Catherine Brown-Swain

Catherine was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley of California, and grew up with horses and around gorgeous California horse properties, developing a strong appreciation for horse properties and homes with plenty of acreage. Catherine is a 2nd generation native Californian to have grown up with horses, as her dad was raised on the family’s Horse Ranch, also in the San Fernando Valley. Her grandfather also owned a Real Estate Company in the San Fernando Valley, serving many types of properties. Catherine moved to Colorado Springs in 1984, and currently resides on a small Ranch with her husband, horses, dogs & cats, and depending on the year, cattle & buffalo.

Catherine attended Orange Coast College in California, studying agriculture, prior to moving to Colorado. She further advanced her schooling at the University of Colorado at Pueblo, where Catherine obtained her paralegal degree, and worked as a legal professional for many years. Catherine is also a Certified Real Estate Negotiation Expert, a certification held by an elite few.

Although Catherine was involved in several real estate transactions prior to obtaining her real estate license in 2007, the motivation for obtaining her license came after a real estate deal Catherine was involved in with her partners, became a transaction that was not what the Real Estate Agent portrayed it to be. After initially getting her license to be utilized for her own sole purpose in her own real estate transactions, people began referring her clients, and she soon realized the passion she had for helping others to find that perfect property that “speaks to them”. She quickly became a trusted land, ranch, and horse property real estate agent in Colorado. After working in the land, ranch, and horse property niche, Catherine began to notice a trend: many real estate agents don’t understand the unique issues that come with land, ranch, and horse properties in Colorado. Because of this, Catherine made it her mission to protect the clients she works with.
