Cathy Colvin

Ethics, family values, and humor are words to describe Cathy Colvin. She is an initiative-taking, highly energetic broker who gets things done. Cathy is someone who puts her client’s needs and wishes first and will work diligently to make sure they are happy all the while entertaining them with feisty repartee. She has boundless energy and is known for her middle-of-the-night emails proving her clients are always on her mind.

Cathy’s customers will say they have never met a more efficient broker. She has the ability and foresight to anticipate her client’s needs and questions so that, in many cases, they don’t even have to ask! Cathy is active in her church as well as volunteering her time to local charities. She was the President of the Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) New Mexico Chapter and was Chair of the Board of the Greater Albuquerque Association of REALTORS® in 2006.

In 2004, she received the true honor of being the Association’s Salesperson of the Year and the REALTOR® of the Year in 2008, the highest award given to a Realtor in Albuquerque. In 2016, Cathy received one of the state’s highest honors, being REALTOR® of the Year by the REALTOR® Association of New Mexico!

Cathy is highly committed to the real estate industry and has served at all levels of the REALTOR® Organization including the 2013 President of the REALTOR® Association of New Mexico. In 2013, Cathy participated in the National Association of REALTORS® Leadership Academy, an elite group of fifteen people chosen from around the world to learn about leadership at the national level. It was a great honor. She participated in classes and sessions revolving around effective leadership including effective legislative advocacy, media relations at NAR, professionalism, and relationship building.

Additionally, Cathy was chosen by the National Association of REALTORS® to Chair the Risk Management Committee for 2015 and the State and Local Issues and Mobilization Committee in 2022. Cathy also serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of REALTORS®, where four directors are chosen from New Mexico, and she is proud to be one of them. In 2018, Cathy was the NAR Region 11 Vice President serving the REALTORS in NM, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, and Arizona. With this knowledge and experience, Cathy can guide you in making an educated decision regarding your real estate transaction.

Cathy is a graduate of Eldorado High School and New Mexico State University where she studied engineering. If Cathy is not working, you can usually find her at college sporting events. She is a huge University of NM Lobo fan (yes, even though she is an Aggie!). She and her husband Brian rarely miss a football or basketball game. For years before she transitioned into Real Estate, Cathy was successful in sales, traveling across the country and working for her family’s business selling electronic components to defense contractors.
