I recently had the wonderful opportunity to work with Cathy in selling my rental condo. It was in bad shape and I had no idea where to begin, so I looked up realtors in my area and found the Mary & Cathy Team. The experience well exceeded my expectation. With one walk-through, Cathy had a vision for what the space could look like, but offered three options. She walked me through the numbers to help me decide if I wanted to sell "as is", make minimal changes, or undertake remodeling the space. I decided on remodeling and her team did the work. Not only did it come out beautifully (beyond my wildest dreams), but the cost came in under the estimate. The staging was exceptional too. The property sold at the high, exactly as Cathy had estimated. On top of her exceptional knowledge and skill, Cathy was confident, caring and supportive. I highly recommend this team and am grateful for the help I received from Cathy.

These ladies will not disappoint!
After a multiyear drag I was finishing up with my father's estate. The last part, the biggest part, was the house, a 40-year old suburban Colonial in Burke. At that point I was exhausted so the last thing I wanted to deal with was selling a house. I talked to a few realtors and none grabbed me. A serendipitous event brought Cathy to me. Things could not have been smoother and stress-free from then on. She handled everything, including the remodel. I just nodded or pointed at what I liked because she already had everything taken care of.
However, just as we prepared to list - the first COVID lockdown that very same week! I thought, Oh, no! We're sunk!
But no! Instead it was opportunity. The house was sold at above listing in no time. All I had to do was show up and sign the sales package. What a relief.
With that done it came time for me to sell my Arlington condo and depart to Texas. That's when Jackie came onboard. Again, a stress-free operation and in the middle of COVID lockdown! She handled the condo management, Arlington county, the remodel and sundry other things. The late 1950s condo looked so good afterward I half-thought about keeping it! We listed on a Friday and it was sold at a great price by Sunday. I could not have been happier.
The takeaway, as I said above, these ladies will not disappoint you.

We used the Mary and Cathy Team to buy our house in Kings Park West and to sell our townhouse. When we knew we wanted to move into the Kings Park West neighborhood, so we began attending open houses where we met Mary and later Cathy. We were impressed with their knowledge of the neighborhood and advice about beginning our search. We found a house and immediately called Mary. Luckily, she helped us decide against that property (it was a short sell and needed major foundation repairs). Later, we ended up putting a bid in on one of their properties. At that point we met Jackie, another member of the team and she represented us. Jackie is so detail oriented and made sure everything was done correctly and the process ran smoothly. Then we had Mary and Cathy sell our townhouse in Burke. Cathy is a pro at staging and knowing what repairs and upgrades to make. We listened to her advice and were able to get multiple offers the first weekend it was on the market. We have been in our home for 9 years and always go to the open houses so we can catch up. When you go with the Mary and Cathy team, you become part of their extended family. We wouldn't go with any other realtor in the Fairfax area.

Mary & Cathy’s homes are always a pleasure to see, to be in, and to photograph. Seeing their listings before and after the remodels, it is beyond doubt: they make real estate look, feel and smell like new homes (they fix it, clean it, and stage it). After they finish the project, sometimes it is even difficult to recognize the property that it was just a few weeks ago: the changes are drastic and impressive!

Everyone in the team is a skilled professional and an extremely pleasant, optimistic and friendly person. Their HR must have magical powers to be able to put together a crew this brilliant! The team is also extremely caring about the Kings Park West community: last Spring they organized an Easter event at Laurel Ridge. Kids and their parents couldn’t be happier with Mary & Cathy team!

I served as the executor of my late father’s estate and faced the daunting task of selling his cluttered and long neglected home. Cathy and her team of professionals performed an assessment on our initial walkthrough and shared their vision for a complete makeover. What a joy it was for my wife and I to be searching for a first home with an agent whom we would come to call a friend. Kellie Quartana was gung-ho about our search from day one and was unbelievably patient with all of our quirks, inquiries, and inevitable pitfalls that came with having no idea how to go about buying a home. She quickly developed an intuition for what we were looking for and helped us develop our vision as criteria changed and we got a better sense of how the whole process flowed. We never felt rushed, in fact when we were starting to get worn down and overwhelmed it was Kellie who helped encourage us to keep looking and never wavered in her commitment to keep providing us with options and opportunities. When it came time to get into the nitty-gritty of offers and contracts Kellie was equally energetic in advocating for us however she could and making sure that we were presenting the strongest possible offer within our limitations. We used The Mary & Cathy Team in 2013 for our sale and purchase. Cathy devised a plan and budget for updating the house we sold which turned out to be amazingly beautiful (I was starting to question the decision to sell!) and very reasonably priced as a result of the contractor relationships she has formed over the years. We would not have been able to update the house that well, within the necessary timeframe, and for that great price had we attempted it ourselves. Cathy sold our house within a week and for a lot more money than we had ever expected! She was equally as brilliant during the house hunting process--we had grown slightly nervous about not finding a house right away and almost decided one that only kind of checked our must-have boxes. Cathy encouraged us to look at just a few more options until we found "the one". We loved that little townhouse for 7 years until our adult children wanted to come home and we needed more space! Mary and Cathy made our home sale fast and painless. They were there every step of the way to take care of whatever needed to be done, making useful recommendations, and having a stable of contractors they could call on to make any repairs necessary. They were our "easy button" who looked out for our interests and helped take one major concern off our plate while we were moving out of state. They even sent us mail that went to our old house after the sale went through. They are thoughtful, kind, diligent, clear communicators, and detail oriented. We learned about this fantastic team years ago when we attended a movie night as a new family in the neighborhood. Cathy and team not only helped us sell our home, they helped us figure out the logistics of an out of state move and transformed our home all in about 6 weeks during a pandemic. The warmth, compassion, sense of humor, and responsiveness by their entire team set us at ease during an incredibly stressful time. They handled all aspects of getting out house ready to go on the market, designing a new bathroom, ordering supplies, scheduling work so it was painless and even thoughtless for us. Friends reported not even recognizing the house once they were done with it and it was staged. They would even check in and see if we needed help packing. They made moving out and selling our home the easiest part of our relocation. More importantly, Cathy's keen eye and business sense also ensured we ended up selling our house for about $60k over what we expected and $12k over asking price within a week of it going in the market. Mary and Cathy’s team were fabulous. I mostly worked with Mary. My house went on the market just before the COVID pandemic hit, and it sold for full price within two weeks. Mary helped me every step of the way. She coordinated all the work on the house, including a new roof and painting the entire house, answered all of my questions, and addressed any of my concerns. She personally went to my house to check on the work. I really appreciated her help and could not have done it without her.
