About Cathy

Energy, enthusiasm, and experience combine to make Cathy Russell the number one agent in the Lafayette area! In 2015, she earned the spot as the number one agent in the Lafayette Regional Association of Realtors by successfully closing more than 225 properties for more than $35M in sales volume in her 42nd year in the business.

Cathy began her Real Estate career in 1974 after graduating from Purdue University in home planning and working in the building industry. After raising her three children, she returned to Coldwell Banker Sycamore Realty in 1989. Putting heavy emphasis on further education led Cathy to break several top-producing records, including being named one of the top 10 agents for Coldwell Banker International from 1992-1996, and she eventually became the number one agent. During that time, she also served as a member of the Chi Omega Alumnae group, and President of the Lafayette Symphony Guild.

In 1998, she established her own Real Estate Agency—Cathy Russell Team Real Estate. Her team once achieved more than $42M in closed sales volume and more than 300 closed properties.

She’s not retiring, but now enjoying watching her oldest and youngest children take the helm as the 2nd generation owners of the company she started, which is now renamed “The Russell Company.”

Cathy is a loyal Purdue University Alum who bleeds black and gold. She has given one scholarship per year for the last 30 years and is a 44-year member of the John Purdue Club.

Mother of three and grandmother of eight now, she continues to emphasize learning, doing your best and helping people get what they want out of life, all the while having FUN!
