About Cecilia
Cecilia McNicoll has always loved being connected to the people, their local environments and way of life wherever she has lived. She worked throughout the western states as an ecologist and wildland firefighter for US Forest Service. She immerses herself in many locales and rural lifestyles. She settled in southwestern New Mexico where she bought a farm on the Gila River and raised grass-fed beef and heritage animals. She opened a specialty market in Silver City where she became deeply involved with the local community and sold her ranch products and organic foods. A few years later an opportunity arose to work in real estate at the top producing Hacienda Realty Brokerage. She believes this was a serendipitous and unique opportunity allowing her to combine her knowledge of the local environment with her ability to interact with the public.
To Cecilia, real estate transactions are similar to managing the complex logistics of a wildfire. There are a lot of interconnected and moving parts in both with the measure of true success rooted in good communication. She makes it a priority that all parties are heard and respected. She wants everyone involved to know and believe their interests and goals are always at the forefront, held in the highest regard and above hers at all times.
As a real estate broker, Cecila listens and ask questions. Together with her client they build the most effective course of action to meet the client’s needs and desires. For a seller this might entail staging their home to maximize its appeal, finding the sweet spot for market value, and bringing the best buyers to the table. For a buyer, the strategy always includes an action plan to find the best fit home or property to match their criteria. Nothing makes her feel better than to make the magic happen!
Now that Cecilia has become a highly successful real estate professional specializing in residential, land, and ranch properties, she has continued to expand her skill set. In 2020 she completed the educational requirements for attaining certification as an Accredited Land Consultant with the Realtors Land Institute. She is a member of Residential Real Estate Council working on her Certified Residential Specialist Certification. Recently, she has taken the lead in renewable energy sales and leasing including solar, wind and carbon offsets.
Her personal belief is that life is too short to not enjoy every day and no problem is too big that it cannot be solved. Like a garden, there may be a few rocks that seem to be in the way, but with a little tending and some gentle maneuvering, most gardens will produce a bounty for all to enjoy. This is how she sees buying and selling properties; it just takes some thought and a little maneuvering to make it all turn out right. She never shies from a challenge. Instead, she strives to find solutions.
Cecilia is a naturalist and lover of New Mexico landscapes; she carves out time for plein air watercolor paintings. She is involved in local arts activities, currently serving as the Independent Artist Chairperson for the Silver City Art Association. She is also actively involved with New Mexico Wild, Audubon, Friends of the San Pedro River, and Sky Island Alliance.
