About CHERIE
The mountains are calling and they are closer than you think! Growing up in Atlanta and Orlando I was always the cousin from the "city". Our family was from Dawson, Pickens and Hall county. My summers were often spent visiting the "country" cousins and grandparents. I grew to love the lifestyle and warmness of North Georgia.
Working in downtown Atlanta I would often escape to the mountains for an afternoon or as I call it a Daycation.
The beauty of seeing the first mountain scene as I traveled old highway 5 often brought a smile to my face.
Occasionally life doesn't go as planned and I found myself spending more and more time at Mama's small restaurant in Jasper. How could I leave the city and move to a tiny town with so few jobs in the corporate world?
Now that was funny because there were no jobs that compared to working on the 19th floor of the Peachtree Center Building. The mountains kept calling until I gave in and moved my 11 month old daughter and I to Pickens county. Shocking was the best way I could describe it. Everyone was so nice. I found a great babysitter, a job, and a home walking distance to the daycare. Leaving the city was the best decision I ever made. It molded me, encouraged me and often protected me. Life in small towns is honestly a lifestyle like no other. I fell so in love with everything about it including my soon to be husband. Together we operated several small business's including a trucking company, wholesale and retail florist and a restaurant. I enjoyed everything we were doing but felt like there was just one more thing I wanted to try. I loved homes and growing up in Morningside I had definite ideas on style and design as I watched my Aunt Louise become very successful as a Realtor. I informed my sweet husband I was going to get my real estate license and become a Realtor. He laughed and smiled through those bright blue eyes. When in the world will you be selling real estate ? In my spare time I answered. He informed me the only spare time I had was between 3 and 5 am. I agreed and proceeded to take the classes and then my test. So excited I could now do something I really wanted to do. It is now 38 years later and I am happy to say I continue to love being a Realtor . Today in my spare time I host and produce a television program seen from Ball Ground to Turtletown. Life is good and I am so very thankful. Becoming a widow at 50 I made a choice to live life to the fullest doing what you love. I love being a Realtor. I love seeing those smiles at closing and often saving a deal by creative thinking. Homes, land, that perfect spot for your new business there is nothing that makes me happier.
Come and see me at Malone's Pond in Ball Ground Georgia. You will fall in love with the Bercher Homes collection of beautiful stately homes. Walking distance to downtown Ball Ground and the 50 acre walking trail to Long Swamp Creek. We are truly preserving the past while embracing the future. You may reach me anytime at 404 375 0590 I look forward to speaking with you!
