Christie Wallace-Bergen is a Savannah real estate broker and co-founder of Salt Marsh Realty, a locally owned real estate brokerage serving Savannah, Georgia and the surrounding coastal communities. With a background in historic preservation, construction, and real estate investment, Christie specializes in historic homes, renovations, investment properties, and residential real estate throughout the Savannah market.
After graduating from Winthrop University in 2005, Christie moved to Savannah and quickly developed a passion for the city’s architecture and historic neighborhoods. In 2007 she earned a Master’s degree in Historic Preservation from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Her early career began in commercial construction, giving her valuable experience in building systems, restoration, and property development before transitioning into real estate.
Christie obtained her Georgia real estate license in 2012 and quickly became a top producing agent in Savannah. She spent six years as a leading agent at a large local firm and developed a reputation for helping buyers see the potential in homes, particularly historic properties and renovation opportunities. Having grown up in a construction family in Hartsville, South Carolina, Christie developed an early appreciation for home restoration and real estate investment. In 2013 she completed her first property renovation project and continues to enjoy helping clients identify properties with renovation or investment potential.
In 2020 Christie earned her Georgia broker’s license and, after years of mentoring other agents, co-founded Salt Marsh Realty alongside longtime colleague Jonathan Haley and her husband and business partner, Patrick Bergen. Together they built a boutique brokerage focused on local expertise, community relationships, and personalized service in the Savannah real estate market.
Christie is deeply involved in the Savannah community. She plays competitive tennis in the Savannah Tennis League, participates in charity golf tournaments supporting local nonprofits, and is a past board member of the Savannah Tree Foundation. She was recognized as a Savannah Business Journal 40 Under 40 honoree and was named runner-up in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Woman of the Year campaign for her fundraising and community leadership.
Today, Christie continues to help buyers, sellers, and investors navigate the Savannah real estate market, while also mentoring agents and growing Salt Marsh Realty as one of the area’s locally owned boutique brokerages.
