About Christine
Have you ever heard the saying "If you want something done, give it to a busy person?" Meet Christine "CJ" DelVecchio, a top- selling Realtor®? in the Greater Ithaca/ Finger Lakes area since 1996.
CJ grew up on the water, hailing from Sodus Bay, a short 90-minute drive North of Ithaca. She originally came to Ithaca to study at Cornell University where she graduated with a B.S. in Natural Resources in 1988. After a brief time in both Ogunquit Maine and Buffalo NY, she returned to settle in Lansing NY, a suburb of Ithaca. CJ competed her master’s degree in Corporate Communications from Ithaca College in 1996 and soon thereafter got her NYS real estate license.
Education is very important to CJ, and she has earned 5 specialty Realtor®? designations throughout her career: AHWD – At Home with Diversity, PSA – Pricing Strategies Advisor, GRI-Graduate, REALTORS®? Institute, and CBR-Certified Buyer Representative. She is also an NYS-approved real estate instructor, regularly teaching her colleagues the REALTOR®? Code of Ethics, Fair Housing, and NYS Agency.
CJ is a long-active leader within the real estate industry, serving in the local, state, and national REALTOR® associations. She is a Past President of both the Ithaca Board (2004) and the New York State Association of REALTORS® (2018). She is also a 3-time awardee of both the Ithaca Board's REALTOR®? of the Year (2001, 2016 and 2021) and Mentor of The Year (2013 and 2020). Locally she is serving once again as the President of the Ithaca Board of Realtors® (2023). At the national level, she was Chair of NAR's Consumer Communications Committee in 2021 which oversaw the Realtor® branding through the That’s Who We R® campaign.
CJ is deeply connected to the Ithaca community through her volunteer activities. She was a board member of Better Housing for Tompkins County including serving as Chair of the board from 2006 to 2008. She also served on the Tompkins County PIAB- Public Information Advisory Board (2008-2018). As an engaged Cornell Alum, she sat on the board of the Cornell Club of Ithaca and was also Club President (2013-2015). She lives in the town of Lansing with her husband Norm, a 4th generation Lansing son and descendant of Andrew Myers (Myers Park).
CJ has also sat on the Lansing Sewer Committee (2010-2013) which planned for the growth of the Lansing Town Centre. Her real passion is ice hockey and has played for years with the local women’s travel team, the Ithaca Sirens. She is a Level 4 USA Hockey-certified coach, working with girls from 6-19 years old in the oldest NYS girl’s hockey association TGHA-Tompkins Girls Hockey Association. CJ was President of TGHA from 2020-2022.
