Clay Speer

Clay Speer, Broker/Owner of Brown Dog Realty is a former teacher and football coach for Norman Public Schools. He retired from NPS in 2011 after 15 years of teaching and coaching at Alcott and Norman North to run the day-to-day operations of The Grapevine Gallery, where he worked with his wife and two uncles since 1995. In 2008, Clay began managing the gallery and eventually left teaching to run it full-time and spend more time with his family.

While at The Grapevine Gallery, Clay developed an interest in investment real estate, which led him to become a licensed realtor. He then transitioned from investor to agent and subsequently became a broker. After passing the broker's exam, Clay decided to open his own agency. He had trouble picking a name for his agency and became frustrated. While sulking in his wife's "she-shed," his loyal Chocolate Lab inspired him to name the agency Brown Dog Realty.
