Raised on a registered black angus’ ranch in the legendary Big Hole Valley in the small town of Wise River, Montana (population 182), Cody was immersed in Montana’s great outdoors from an early age, helping him to develop a great appreciation for wildlife and the land that supports it. From fly-fishing on the Big Hole River, to chasing mountain lions in the Big Belt Mountains, Cody has been exploring Montana since he was old enough to hold a fly rod.
After graduating from Butte Central High School, he moved to Dillon to attend Western Montana College. During that time, he divided his efforts between school, guiding hunters in the fall, fly fishermen on the Big Hole and Beaverhead rivers through the summer months, and riding saddle broncs, forging relationships with true working Montanans. Cody won numerous saddle bronc titles along with being a 3X PRCA Great Lakes Circuit Finals qualifier.
Prior to establishing his real estate career, Cody started, owned, and ran his own excavation business for 12 years, gaining knowledge that has been very helpful to his real estate clients in residential and commercial construction, reclamation, stream bed enhancement, pond construction and habitat replacement. Raising and training Plott hounds to pursue predators led him to perform predator control and inventory on several very large ranches. His knowledge, time in the field and learning to identify what makes a sporting, agricultural or recreational property exceptional is second to none. From habitat and wildlife management to farming and ranching, coupled with direct experience in income property, new construction and bare land development, Cody has invaluable on-the-ground experience. His experience brokering real estate in Montana has ranged from representing both buyers and sellers of multimillion dollar ranch and recreational properties to young couples starting out in life purchasing their first home.
Cody brings not only a unique and valuable knowledge of real estate to his clients, but he has also established a lifetime of contacts throughout Montana and the west.
