If one word could encapsulate Cody’s story, it would be LEADERSHIP. From the moment he stepped onto a baseball field at 4 years old, a football field at 5, and a jiu jitsu mat at 13, he began his leadership journey, always finding his way into a position of authority as a result of competence. He graduated from high school in the spring of 2009 and made the difficult choice not to pursue a professional mixed martial arts career, electing to take on the world of business at Auburn University. In the winter of 2013, he earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Auburn with a minor in English.

Cody chose to focus on developing his understanding of the art and science of sales immediately after graduating by taking a job as an outside sales associate at a local camper dealership. That was his first and only full-time job. After only three months in the role, he took a leap of faith by leaving the dealership to start his first business, a recreational vehicle repair company called RV Heroes, which is still in business to this day.

RV Heroes was the perfect training ground for Cody to learn how to build a business. There were no other onsite service companies, so he had to imagine how a venture like that would be structured. Cody built the sales pipeline, the systems, models, and protocols, and handled all the customer relations. He learned far more about selling in this role than in the sales associate role. He owned and operated that business for three years.

In January of 2017, he moved by himself to Nicaragua, a place he had never been where he knew no one and did not speak the language. This seemingly random move served two purposes: first, it removed all safety nets for him and created a world where he could succeed or fail on his own terms. This was the greatest challenge he could dream up. Second, it was his first real attempt at pursuing his lifelong dream of speaking and writing professionally. He learned some of the most valuable lessons of his life on this anxiety-riddled trip. Lessons on the value of community, real relationships, and explicit goals. In April of 2017, he slinked back home feeling like an utter failure. Little did he know that the real journey was only about to begin.

Cody earned his real estate license in the summer of 2017. During 2018, Cody’s focus on service and consistent execution catapulted him to the top of the Birmingham real estate market as evidenced by his selection as both a Top 30-Under-30 Real Estate Professional in the Birmingham Business Journal and the Birmingham Association of Realtors Rookie of the Year, which is a designation only given to one agent per year.

In 2019, Cody formed the Apollo Property Group. This team of agents and administrative professionals are now bringing a level of service on par with the very best in the world to the greater Birmingham market. Today, Cody serves as the CEO and team leader for the Apollo Property Group. Under his leadership, the business has grown and diversified greatly. He actively serves homeowners, potential homeowners, and real estate investors across Alabama by helping them create and manage wealth in real estate. He is also passionate about teaching other realtors how to build massive businesses.
