About David

David is a 1978 graduate of Westwood High School where he served as Senior Class President and earned All-American recognition as an American High School Athlete. He is a 1983 graduate of Boston College with degrees in Marketing and Finance. Before moving to Vermont David was employed at Bank of Boston and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 1985 the Mad River Valley became his permanent home. He founded Dion & Shea Real Estate then David M Dion Real Estate and in 2014 took on partners and changed the company name to Mad River Valley Real Estate. He has been active in the community serving on myriad Boards including The Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce, VEDA, the Mad River Valley Planning District, and Keeping Track, a Vermont based organization dedicated to inspiring community participation in the long-term stewardship of wildlife habitat. When not in Vermont David spends time on his farm in Costa Rica where he is currently developing an organic farmstead and Eco-Lodge in the Turrubares Mountains.
