Deborah Smith

I was born and raised in rural DeKalb County, Georgia. I grew up surrounded by beautiful farm land and open spaces. But things change and as the county grew, those open spaces disappeared! After marrying my high school sweetheart, we relocated to rural Gwinnett County. We raised our two wonderful sons’ and watched the open spaces disappear there as well. Our boys loved to hunt, fish, hike, and kayak and spend as much time as possible in the great outdoors. Somehow, we found a secret little place called Suches.
We purchased a tiny little cabin on side of a mountain. You would think that we had won the lottery and bought a mansion! We loved that little weekend getaway so much. We spent every possible minute that we could at that little cabin! When the youngest son started college, I looked around and wondered why we shouldn’t move to Suches. And so we did!
That was sixteen years ago and we are just as happy and content now as the day we found that tiny little cabin! I became a Real Estate agent and have been enjoying this special “Heaven on Earth” ever since.
