About Derek Goff

Born and raised in Maine, he moved to Philadelphia for college, anxious to take in all the big city had to offer. City life wore on him; he met his future wife and realized that Maine was where they wanted to live and start a family. Upon college graduation, they moved to Maine, and he started a career in IT. Shortly after the move and marriage, they purchased his first home using a close friend as our Realtor. He and her wife worked to convince him that a duplex was the best move, and it was! They lived in one part of the home and had our mortgage paid for by renting out the other. The outstanding service during that transaction inspired me to pursue a career in real estate.

While working in IT, he quickly realized he didn’t want to sit behind a computer for the rest of his life. He returned to school to earn an MBA hoping to ignite some passion. During his final year in school, he decided to obtain a real estate license – the best career move he could have made! He shortly after transitioning from an IT career to a full-time Realtor. This is the career he was meant for! He genuinely loves what he does, so it often doesn’t feel like work. As a bonus, he can utilize his IT background to give his clients an edge, whether buying, selling, or both.
