Dessy grew up in Bulgaria and moved to the US at the age of 20 to pursue a bachelor’s degree at the University of Kentucky. Upon graduation, she obtained employment as a court interpreter for Clark County in Las Vegas. Four years later, Dessy visited the Bay Area, fell in love with California, and decided to settle in the East Bay, where her real estate career began in 2001, and she started a family in 2002.

Dessy is a keen animal lover and volunteers at the local shelter in Martinez, fosters for Underdog Animal Rescue, and is involved in other dog rescue operations. She is also an avid skier, with Heavenly being her favorite nearby ski destination.
