About Diana
Diana was born and raised in San Jose, California, just 40 miles from Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz was a regularly visited spot growing up. With the allure of this quintessential beach town, she and her sister, twin brothers and parents made many trips “over the hill”. As young adults they would scavenge for some coins to fill up on gas (.25 cents), pile in the car, and head “over the hill” with their best friends. Most weekends were spent at the beach, surfing and sailing in the sunshine and refreshing ocean breeze. During her college years, she and some friends from high school built a trimaran sailboat in their backyard in San Jose. With dreams of sailing off into the wild blue yonder, Santa Cruz became their new home to test the waters… and she’s been here ever since! Once she was introduced to sailing – she was hooked! She became an avid racer and spent most of her spare time sailing or at the Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor. She crewed on a variety of race boats from 24’ to 70’. She was fortunate enough to sail on some renowned sailboats on San Francisco Bay, in Italy, across the ocean from Hawaii to California and many more adventures she’s grateful for.
Sailing in these many great places began her interest and love of traveling. She has been to some wonderful destinations, most recently to see the tulips and explore Holland on a river cruise. Not only does she have a love for traveling, but she loves cats too. Especially her two newest family members, Mega Maine-Coon cats named Hudson and Max and of course her long-time cat companion Ben. Gardening, collecting art, reading, a good movie, Disneyland, friends and hanging out with her fabulous daughter and grandchildren are also some of her favorites.
