Born and raised in New Bedford, Diane currently lives in Marion with her husband John Collins. Diane has two grown children, Lindsay and Kevin. Diane was the executive director of Downtown New Bedford, Inc. for 8 years, an organization that promotes the city’s downtown business district, and Diane served as Membership Director and Trade Show Manager for the New Bedford Chamber of Commerce for 25 years.
Diane was a member of the Board of Managers for the New Bedford YMCA-Southcoast and of the Board of Access, Inc., a local group that provides social opportunities for handicapped adults. Diane has an associate degree in Business Administration from Bristol Community College and is a graduate of Leadership Southcoast, a 9-month work/study program designed to provide community leaders to promote the quality of life in the region.
