About Donna

Prior to becoming a Realtor, Donna was a high school English teacher. She loved that career left it, temporarily she thought, when her daughters were born. Several years later when teaching jobs were very scarce, a friend actually suggested that she "try" real estate since she was always studying the classified ads and property transfer articles. That was in 1984. Shortly after that Donna discovered that she loved the business. Even today, 30+ years later, she still enjoys marketing properties and helping people buy and sell the homes of their dreams. The business certainly has changed. No MLS books. Instead, agents rely on computers, digital cameras, smart phones, and every other kind of technological gadget.

Donna has always tried to be a responsible member of the real estate community by continuing her real estate education and by being an active member of the Board of Realtors. She currently holds several designations: GRI, ABR, SRS, PSCS. There is always something more to learn, and Donna continues to take real estate classes whenever her schedule permits. She is currently a member of the CT Realtors and the National Association of Realtors.

Prior to opening Bannon & Hebert Properties LLC with Mary Ann Hebert, Donna was a Realtor with a large firm. Her experiences there were very good, but she must admit that she enjoys being a broker in a small firm where she has highly trained Realtor Associates who can function as a team. Their agents can rely on their brokers to be available for advice and decision making. They also know that the brokers engage in day-to-day operations.

On a more personal level, when Donna is not "on the job", she relaxes by reading, gardening, and taking long walks. Donna guesses having an active real estate life means that she must enjoy solitude when she can. She currently lives in Middlebury, CT with her husband, Jim. Donna and Jim enjoy spending time together (and apart), but they both agree that spending time with their family, especially the grandchildren, is what they enjoy most.
