About Dori

Dori Abel is a native Californian who grew up in the Santa Clarita Valley, north of Los Angeles. As a young adult she and her husband Merl, lived in Orange County where they began to raise their family. Making the move to Yucca Valley, in 1990, was life changing and they never looked back. Dori loves people and has a niche for conversation and loves the beauty of the outdoors.

While raising her family in Yucca Valley, Dori and her husband Merl started Joshua Springs Christian School where she and her husband were involved in coaching, teaching, Administration, and church activities. She earned a master’s degree in Educational Counseling at Azusa Pacific University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Bible Studies.

Now that she is in the real estate business, she especially loves showing people around the area who are perhaps looking for their first home, a vacation home or transferring to the area. Dori finds great satisfaction when she knows that she has helped her clients find that special place to call home. Playing tour guide and showing others the beauty of our area is a real bonus!! The fresh air and desert skies are something that never grows old. The beauty of God’s creation and the precious people that she has met here in the desert has been extremely fulfilling.
