Karin Wulff was absolutely a pleasure to work with. As an aside: I typically stick to working with women when it comes to real estate in any capacity, they tend to just *get it* more often then men who are generally pushy and sales-oriented. No one at Taft Street was pushy, ever, and I felt like I was in great hands. Karin really did *get it*. She was kind, patient, answered all my questions (sometimes twice), had great referrals for me, checked in with me often, and continues to check in with me long after the sale. Highly recommend working with her. Also a special shout out to her colleague Dylan who filled in for her during my inspection date, and was equally kind and helpful! Karin is awesome! If you are looking to buy a house, property, whatever, in Ulster County (upstate NY) please do yourself a favor and contact this team - their basically the 1998 Yankees but for real estate, and Dylan is Jeter.

We started out knowing zero about what we were about to get into, and by the time we closed our knowledge was upped by an order of magnitude - which came from this teams diligence, patience, time spent educating us, literal hours on the phone explaining circumstances that you’d only be aware of with deep historical insight about the market, helping us dodge bullets and pitfalls - and more.

In the end, and they stuck by us over the course of months and several accepted offers, we friggn nailed it - I bet I’d be kicking myself stuck in a money pit if it wasn’t for this group - and couldn’t be happier.

I wish they did more than real estate, I’d buy a bridge from them!

If I had to choose one word regarding my experience with Taft Street Realty it would be “Phenomenal”.

I should preface this review by stating that my wife and I had initially signed up with another agent/broker when first trying to sell our home. While that agency met the requirements of serving as our agent, they did not exceed any expectations we may have held. We came to believe that all agencies were created the same and that selling our house was simply a matter of timing. When the terms of that partnership were fulfilled, and I was free to choose a new agent/broker, I explored numerous sites looking to locate an experienced and professional group with tons of experience in the Hudson Valley.

Introduce Taft Street Realty…

It took absolutely no time to make the determination, based on reviews, photography work, listings, etc, that we wanted to meet with Dylan and/or one of his agents. We reached out and were immediately scheduled to meet with him and discuss a partnership. Upon meeting with Dylan it was clear to see that he was a seasoned professional with great insight into not only the market conditions but also the way to enhance bringing together sellers and buyers. It goes without saying that the over the last 10 years Taft Street Realty has ranked up hundreds of positive reviews based on the way they handle their business; professional and results driven. Once we had agreed to partner with Taft Street Realty we started to see the real differences in level of service; from setting up a photo-shoot to properly portray the interior and exterior of our house to that of the content of the MLS listing. We couldn’t have been more impressed with the results of both efforts and in no time saw tons of people coming to see our house; in fact we were able to receive an offer within the first week despite the other agency not having provided us with a buyer that was willing to offer in over 3 months.

Now that our search to find a buyer is over all I can do is speak honestly to the level of respect I have for Dlyan and his team. While it seems customer service, specifically response time and attention to detail is lacking in today’s world…. It was refreshing to be exposed to such an excellent group of professionals that exceeded all of our expectations.

As you can see from my review, as well as the others, you can’t go wrong with Taft Street Realty.

Dylan Taft went far beyond what i ever expected from a real estate broker. Besides being professional, courteous and prompt, (traits id expect in any broker,) He expressed a knowledge of houses and the buying/selling process that i never expected... Time and time again he offered up information and explanations of house details/features that i never thought to bring up or ever would have noticed on my own being a first time "house hunter." Dylan was patient with my wife and i and willing to trek all over the hudson valley.. far beyond his usual home-base area. Dylan helped us navigate buying an older home with 12 acres in our perfect location. He has a real eye for the potential of a space with a strong, critical eye for the reality of structural issues. He rightly steered us away from a house that had much less land than we had said we wanted and a poor renovation job which would have been an easy sell but a few months later we found our true dream home. Dylan was simply the best. When we began our home search, we were a little less than focused. We weren't sure what we wanted or exactly where. Dylan was so patient. He indulged our voyage of discovery and happily met us to see whatever happened to come on the market that week, no matter how impractical the property might be for our needs. All the while, he listened to our likes and dislikes about each and kept our feet on the ground when we tried to change our needs to meet a property's features. He helped us understand that we should be looking for a home that met our needs and not the other way around. Together with Dylan, we crafted a pretty clear and concise idea of the features most important to us. With that our search became easier and when we saw the "one", we knew it immediately.

That's when Dylan really went to work. He expertly negotiated a price that worked for our budget. He was very clear in identifying potential issues and items needing repair and worked them into the deal. Through the closing process, Dylan was always available to answer questions and concerns. His attention to detail and cool head took away so much of the stress normally found in real estate closings. We can't imagine getting through it without him.

His knowledge of Ulster County and the real estate market here also proved invaluable. If you are looking for a home here, Dylan should be your first call.

There's a lot of options when it comes to picking a real estate company to work with and there was something different about Taft Street Realty. They had a lot of positive reviews on Zillow and Google and I was really impressed with the ease and functionality of their website. It had a vast amount of information about the local Ulster County NY area and it gave me that needed insight which ultimately helped in making my decision. If you're looking for a real estate company that understands the area and is great to work with then I highly recommend Taft Street. If you want high levels communication, local area expertise, and protection from making any mistakes then this is the company you need to work with. They will have your back at all times.

My husband and I had a fantastic experience with Taft Street Reality, who helped us find and close on our first home at the end of 2014.

Our primary residence is a rental in NYC, and we had been searching for a second home in Ulster County for a couple of months. The first time we met Dylan, we were immediately impressed by his genuine desire to understand exactly what we were looking for. He asked that we visit houses we thought we didn't like on paper, just so that he could get a sense of why we liked and disliked what we did. We are so happy we took his advice and saw all the listings he prepared for us, because it was one of those houses that wound up being our perfect home.

We felt absolutely no pressure to buy (a huge problem we had with an agent we tried prior), yet were reassured and informed by the numerous comparables he sent us. Each set of comps came with a detailed explanation, Dylan's assessment, of what the comps could mean for us. He went to great lengths to ensure that our decision would be a well-informed one.

When we decided to move forward with an offer, Dylan negotiated with incredible skill and got us a fantastic price. We experienced a LOT of roadblocks in between making our initial offer and finally closing, and Dylan was professional and reassuring in the face of each one. We completely trusted him and were so grateful to have such a solid ally.

We are now happily settled in our new home, and feel we have Taft Street Reality to thank for this exciting new phase our lives!

Thanks to Dylan Taft at Taft Street Realty, my wife and I are enjoying a newly purchased (June 2014) home in Rosendale. Dylan's efforts were first-rate from start to finish. His up-to-the-minute knowledge of the local market was evident at our first meeting this spring. He was quick to understand the combination of features of house and location that we were seeking. Within a few weeks, he called to alert us to an affordable property meeting our criteria that had just come on the market. We took his advice to come see it quickly. We made a offer promptly and relied on his counsel to conclude the negotiation successfully within days. At our request, he provided referrals to an inspector and attorney, saw us through a convivial closing, and provided advice and contacts that helped us as newcomers to Ulster County settle in quickly. Nothing but good things to say about Dylan.

We relied on Zillow and Yelp reviews in picking an agent to help us buy a place and Dylan was a great pick. He was always available to answer any of our questions, quick to respond with listing availability and make a plan that worked around our schedule.

He helped us all through the process - finding houses that were interesting to us based on questions he'd asked and by asking for feedback as we went through the process, then in helping identify local experts to help with the inspection, financing and an attorney. In all cases he gave us a number of recommendations.

On top of this is he is such a nice guy. 5-stars - buy or sell your house with Dylan, am sure it will be like ours - a great experience.

Dylan "gets" his client. He did not waste our time taking us to homes that did not fit our criteria. Every home we visited with Dylan was a strong candidate for us in terms of price and home characteristics. This ultimately resulted in a purchase by us. My husband and I had moved back to NY from CA last year and wanted to buy a house right away. We did not realize what this process entailed or how long it would take so we needed a realtor that was going to hold our hand through the process. I had known Dylan from working together in the past and came across his name while searching for a realtor in the area. I was very pleased to have found someone that I already knew to be a hardworking and a "get the job done" kind of guy. Once I had contacted Dylan and sent him a message he responded within a matter of minutes, from there we already knew he had to be our realtor. My husband and I have never owned or attempted to buy a house so we had no idea what to expect. Being first time home buyers Dylan explained how everything was going to work, he was very detailed and laid it out for us in terms we could understand. He knew exactly what we, as first time home buyers needed to know and expect. He answered every question we may have had, and we had a lot.. He never showed any kind of frustration or annoyance with us no matter how many times we had asked the same question over and over or "questioned" his answers, he just gave us the info we needed with a smile on his face. We really had no idea where we wanted to buy a house, we knew what we wanted but didn't know the area as far as buying a house was concerned. Dylan's knowledge of Ulster County was tremendous and very apparent, he pretty much knew what area we wanted to live in before we did. He was very flexible with our work schedules and often times went out of his way to meet up with us and show us a house if we wanted to see it right away. (he lives about a half hour or more away) You see we were kind of trying to play "beat the clock" if you will, I was pregnant and we wanted to be in a house well before the baby arrived. Dylan went way above and beyond to try and make this happen and in the end we were in our house about a month before our daughter arrived..now that's what i call "making it happen". We are not the easiest people to please and Dylan never made us feel like we were asking too much or being too difficult, he handled us with kid gloves and made our experience pleasant. We considered ourselves to be very prepared and ready to buy, financially and mentally, however we had one obstacle after another thrown at us. Dylan handled each and every one promptly and professionally and got us through to the end. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking and if we ever attempt this process again I will be calling him. He is outstanding and professional to the core!
