About Ellen

As a fourth-generation realtor from Atlanta, Georgia, Ellen moved with her family to Western North Carolina in 1996 to take advantage of Waynesville’s charm, small-town atmosphere and ultimately pursue her real estate career. Her Atlanta native real estate roots run deep. Ellen's great-grandfather and grandfather established Atlanta's Brookwood Hills neighborhood between Midtown and Buckhead in 1922, a development now on the National Register of Historic Places. Her father continued Burdett Realty Company into the 1960s. Graduating from the University of Georgia with a BBA in Accounting, Ellen has extensive professional business experience working with healthcare and educational nonprofits. In 2011, Ellen acted on long-term goal to become a Realtor, her long-term passion and legacy.

As a three-time annual Raving Fans Award Recipient and voted the Realtor® of the Year by Haywood Realtor® Association in 2017, it is clear Ellen’s innate ability to identify and match buyer and seller goals serves her clients well. She really enjoys exceeding the expectations of her clients as she assists them in buying and selling real estate. Her goal is to ensure her clients are well informed about the process. They need to be ready to capitalize on opportunities and prepared for any challenges along the way. Ellen works to ensure that her buyers and sellers utilize well-researched information and benefit from her experience accumulated from over 223 sales transactions.

Ellen’s peers have also attested to her commitment to the real estate profession by recognizing her in 2015, 2013, and 2012 with the Beverly-Hanks Realtors® - Waynesville Office’s Contributing to Excellence Award. Her involvement with the Haywood Realtor Association (HRA), expanded her real estate expertise as a Board Member, Treasurer, Vice President, and elected HRA President in 2017. Ellen's service has afforded her the opportunity to lead while expanding her knowledge of real estate business.

As a Canopy Housing Foundation Western Region Committee member, Ellen is actively working toward equity in housing for the Western North Carolina area. She is deeply committed to giving back to the communities she serves and enjoys honoring her clients with a donation for each transaction she is involved in. Ellen's commitment to addressing challenges never stops, no matter the cause.
