I would like to take this opportunity, one day after selling my house, with the extraordinary help of my Realtor, Emily Jackson of Northrop Realty, to personally thank her for all the hard work, great advice, expertise and sincere caring throughout the process of me getting my home ready to be sold. It was indeed an exceptionally long and tedious process, and she helped me out tremendously. She is an extremely diligent worker, stays remarkably busy helping all her clients to get them to their best outcome.
I used to tell some of my family and co-workers how much Emily is helping me with my home, coming by when she had the time to view the updates/progress, giving me expert advice, and even recommending to me the Electrician that I ended up using, who is fantastic and fair with his prices, as well as the Moving Company that I used that was half the price of the first company I researched. I was indeed grateful for those recommendations which saved me money. One of my co-workers once told me that “You know, she is not your personal assistant…?” and then I felt bad that I was going to her too often for her help and advice. She made me feel at ease and clearly said that was not the case and was glad to help me out in any way she could.
I am very happy with her and all the help that she and her company have provided to me, so much so that I informed her that when I move from my temporary apartment situation, she will definitely be my realtor once again when I look to move to a detached home in a year or two. We worked with Emily starting in January, and she was very willing to quickly start seeing lots of properties and scheduling visits. Before we had really gotten started we put an offer on a different house and she was very helpful letting us know what needs to be done. We had several closing issues with the lenders in the last days before settlement, and she was very very responsive and professional helping us manage the issues and talking to the lenders and settlement companies around the clock. Emily went above and beyond as our realtor and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! She’s incredibly knowledgeable about the DC/Maryland area and found listings that perfectly matched what we were looking for. We were able to sign the contract for our ideal home within 10 days of meeting her! She was super responsive on text or phone calls at any time of day and was able to accommodate our hectic work schedules by scheduling evening showings.

Most importantly, she was patient and compassionate throughout the entire process– even though we signed the contract for the house in 10 days, we weren’t able to move in for a few months, and she was present and supportive throughout that entire time. As first-time home buyers, we had many questions and it meant a lot to us that Emily answered all of them with care and thoughtfulness. When we finally got the keys to the house, she even got us a housewarming gift, which was so kind! She made us feel so at ease and we can’t imagine a better house-buying process. I recently sold my house thanks to Emily Jackson of Northrup Reality.

She is amazing. She really knows the area and what sells. She gave me guidance on everything from paint color to what minor repairs sellers really care about.

She had my house staged to sell so that it looked much better than the house when I lived in it.

Because I had already moved out of town, I leaned on her heavily. She went above and beyond her realtor duties to get my house sold.

She is a very pleasant person to work with. She listened to my long-distance concerns and calmed my anxiety with her calm demeanor and extensive experience.

She made selling my house a much more pleasant experience than I dreamed possible.

I have recommended her to my neighbors and anyone else in Maryland I know who might be selling their house in the future.

We contacted Emily out of the blue, desperately hoping to have some help looking at a new house on the market. Even with just a few days notice and without knowing anything about us, Emily immediately agreed to meet us at the house and stopped for coffee after to learn a bit more about what we were looking for. As first time homebuyers, we really didn't know much of what to expect, but Emily walked us through a dozen or so houses, pointing out flaws and trying to offer guidance about what was worthwhile and what might be more trouble than it's worth. I'm convinced that Emily barely sleeps: she answered messages at any time of the day or night and always seemed willing to have a quick call for any of our questions. After close to a year of searching, we managed to snag a wonderful house right in our target area. If we ever decide to go through this all again, she'd absolutely be the first person we'd contact.

Before working with Emily, I thought realtors were just leeches in the real estate system. After Emily helped us buy our home, I think she was worth every dollar. She answered our calls at all hours of the day, all week, when necessary. She was a great negotiator and champion of our priorities with the selling agent - we got our home at $10k under asking price, in April 2022 when homes were still going above. She was also an excellent manager of information concerning the title company, the lender, and local inspection/repair companies. If I ever sell my house, I'll ask for Emily.

I have worked with Emily twice now, once for buying my house and once for selling. I am in the military and I bought my house in Maryland fully remote while I was still stationed in Florida. Emily did multiple walk throughs for me over facetime, was extremely accommodating, and I felt confident enough with her to complete the purchase without ever seeing the home in person. Emily continued to check in with me for months after completing the purchase to make sure everything was still going okay. When it came time to move and sell the house a couple years later, there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted Emily representing me. I reached out while I was deployed and again, Emily accommodated my every request. The open house was hosted without me even on the same continent and Emily secured six offers within three days of being on the market. Due to unforeseen circumstances, there were a couple hiccups and it took multiple confirmed offers to finally close, but Emily handled everything throughout and we eventually came to the sale. Never once did I worry that things weren't moving and if I ever started to wonder about the status of the house, I had an email in my inbox because Emily was already on it. I can't say enough good things about Emily as a Real Estate agent and a person. I never once thought about the fee or shopping around for a lower commission and I still don't really know what I paid, but it was well worth it and I would have paid more to have Emily representing me. Don't keep looking for a Real Estate agent, call Emily and get into a home!

We had a unique situation. We found a property that checked all the boxes. We put in an offer on that one property, and someone out bid us. However, it came back to us, because the person who outbid us had an emergency.

After putting in the offer that was accepted, we were making arrangements with our lender. We originally started with one bank that did not understand ground rent, and this caused some delays and ultimately a rejection. Emily saved the day by linking us with a local lender where she had connections. Her expertise in real estate also came in handy by suggesting an extension. This ultimately was all that we needed to finally secure the property with the new (local) lender.
