As a real estate agent, his experience really shows through. He has a great depth of knowledge regarding the markets and neighborhoods in the area and always could offer solid advices with the properties we looked at. His greatest asset propably is that he's a great listener and tries to understand what you're looking for without interfering with your decision process. Of course, he's always available for advices when you're looking for his thoughts, and all his inputs had been golden. He's also a very efficient negotiator. We had good idea where the negotiations were heading on the same day. He also seems to be pretty well respected by other agents, so all the negotiations and showings happened pretty quickly. He is a very busy agent though, so he's not always available at the drop of the hat. Still, he showed us near 100 properties in a little over a month. He had always been patient and tireless for us, and he's very punctual. We had a great experience with him as our agent, and he helped us buying a great home.

It had been a rental property for the past ten years and when the last tenants moved out, there was a considerable amount of cleaning, repairing, and remodeling to make it suitable to show to perspective buyers. Eric coordinated all the work with haulers and service providers to bring the house up to speed. He then tirelessly showed the house and property to a large number of rather picky buyers until he found a couple interested in purchasing the home. Sold a home in 2013 in Wilbur Heights, Champaign, IL 61822. -- We initially listed our property with another big-name realtor in the area, and after several months of frustration and futility, we switched to Eric Porter. We should have gone with him from day one! Once we teamed with Eric, we had an offer on our property in about 100 days. Given the extremely challenging market conditions (especially for our segment of the market), we'll take that! Eric is very personable and pleasant to work with. He goes above and beyond the call of duty. I appreciate that he was willing to market our place with features normally reserved for higher-value listings (online virtual tour, floor plan) and make other concessions to us that we felt we needed. He also posted a second set of pictures online after weather conditions improved and more appealing outdoor shots were available. The blurb he put in the MLS was also much more appealing than what we originally had. By contrast, a neighboring property that was essentially the same as ours-- and even more appealing in some respects-- was consistently priced several thousand dollars below ours. Ours finally sold with Eric's help; a few days later, the neighbors pulled theirs off the market in frustration. This was additional evidence for us that Eric's strategy for conditioning, marketing, and pricing strategy is superior! Eric was also very responsive to us. When we received our offer, he called us after hours to discuss it, and had our counter-offer accepted before business hours the next morning! He and his staff helped us all the way through the closing. We highly recommend him!

I was impressed how much time he took with a 23-year-old couple, helping us find the right neighborhood and right house for us. Six years later, we decided to find a larger house and asked him to help sell ours. He was excellent in helping us figure out what we needed to rearrange in the house and what to put in storage to help things sell quickly. And sell quickly it did. He walked through our house, gave us recommendations of where to declutter our house before putting it on the market, and walked us through the current state of the market for houses that were similar to our home.
