About Gary
Gary Garner moved from Ohio to Sarasota County in 1986, where his love of the water led him to become a licensed U.S. Coast Guard Captain. Enamored by southwest FL, Gary moved to the Venice area, where he began investing in and selling waterfront properties for his own portfolio. His other love is meeting new people from all walks of life, and people are naturally drawn to his indubitable warm, sincere, and friendly personality. Bringing all these interests together, he launched a charter cruise boat company to share the fun of the water in a social setting. A natural progression to this experience was becoming a licensed Realtor and showing people how to make this life their own. Gary became a top producer doing what he loves to do best - listing and selling waterfront property and eventually started his own highly successful real estate firm.
In early 2000 Gary decided to summer in the mountains of Asheville, NC. He found a new interest - high-end mountain resort homes and joined the sales team of Mountain Air Country Club. His exploration of the area led him to the exquisite resort town of Highlands, NC where he purchased a 125-year-old inn - The Main Street Inn. Gary's personality was a perfect fit for the hospitality business. His superb natural talent for making people feel at home by providing the highest quality of personal service and amenities brought him many awards such as being ranked by Executive Travel magazine as one of the top seven inns to visit in America, as well as Southern Living magazine's favorite inn in Highlands, NC.
In May 2014, Gary joined PalmerHouse Properties and opened its Venice Office location.
