Gene DePoris has been heavily involved in Sarasota for nearly 30 years. Prior to moving to Sarasota, Gene spent his career in the publishing & entertainment industries, from book & magazine publishing to TV & films. Multilingual, Gene has travelled to 150 countries as well as all 50 states.

Gene has lived throughout the world, from NYC to Paris to Rio, but calls Sarasota his home. Gene has been a board member of many of the area non-profit organizations, and is best known locally as the founder and original publisher of the prestigious regional publication, West Coast Woman.

When not in Sarasota, Gene can be found relaxing at a quiet cove in the Hamptons, studying grizzly bears in Montana, exploring ancient civilizations in Uzbekistan or hunting for dinosaurs in Mongolia.
