Where do I even begin? Having the opportunity to work with Hillary and the entire Hillary's Homes team has been an absolute pleasure, and a privilege. While purchasing a home certainly isn't easy, Hillary walked us through every step of the way, multiple times over. She is everything you could ask for in a real estate agent: courteous, responsive, friendly, open and honest, transparent, and resourceful. I could go on for days with this but I think you get the point.

When my wife and I began our home search back in October, we didn't really know what to expect. We were first-time home buyers searching for a home in an absolutely bonkers market. Inventory was next to nothing and interest rates were the highest they'd been in 15 years. Having done this for years, Hillary knew what we were up against, but made it clear from day one that she would work with us until we found the perfect first home for our family.

Hillary's Homes Team is a TRUE team. When Hillary was tied up, one of her colleagues would jump in, never skipping a beat. It was like we were one of their family members that they would do anything to help out; we really felt taken care of and heard. No question was too small or too difficult - they had seen and heard it all before. If we needed a sounding board or just another set of eyes or ears, they were there.

After hundreds of phone calls, emails, thousands of texts, and close to 30 viewings (no exaggeration), we finally had an offer accepted and moved fast. I mean really fast. Thanks to the experience and expertise of Hillary, we closed on our home exactly when we needed to, right before our second baby was born and weeks before our apartment lease was expiring.

Without hesitation, I'm positive we could not have had a better experience buying our first home. It's a scary, exciting, stressful, and exhilarating time, so make sure you find someone with your best interest in mind. I would wholeheartedly recommend Hillary and her fantastic team to anyone I know, and even though I can't say I'll be doing this again anytime soon, I know when I'm ready I know exactly who to go to.

Buying your first home feels a lot like becoming a first-time parent - you have no idea what you're doing, and you have don't know what you don't know. It's both exciting and terrifying, and Hillary is basically an antidote to the terrifying part.

She's lovely - friendly and outgoing, and immediately puts you at ease - but what really set her apart from the other agents we worked with when we first started considering a move to the suburbs were the questions she asked us: things we'd never even thought about. She really got to know us, and when she said "I think you'll really like this house," we invariably did.

We ended up staying in the city for a few more years, and when we decided we wanted to make the move in early 2020, Hillary was our first call. She gave us excellent advice based on her insight into what quickly became a crazy market, and when we decided to make an offer, she quarterbacked the whole process perfectly.

She's since introduced us to a bunch of people and resources and made the transition from the city so much easier (her Instagram is a great resource for 'best of' in Westchester). Hillary clearly loves what she does, and it shows in the experience she delivers to her clients.

Hillary is a very kind and genuine human being. She helped us with our very first home. We were new to the Westchester so needed someone who knows the area and could suggest which towns were right for us. She understood our must-haves and nice-to-haves and was able to find us highly qualified towns and homes to consider. She's also very efficient and would plan itineraries for us to see multiple homes in a span of a couple of hours.

What was comforting was that Hillary really had our backs. She pointed out things around each home that we should consider such as cost of maintenance and repairs, schools, etc. She also walked us through the home-buying process from the beginning to the end, and then some. Working with Hillary to buy our home was a life changing experience. My husband and I were on two completely different pages (not even reading the same book if I’m honest), and she knew how to seamlessly speak to both of us so that the things we each wanted to know were being addressed.

She was realistic and honest about everything and has a wealth of knowledge about the housing market and the towns we were interested in. She of course gave us key details on the house, but more importantly, gave us details on the town and things that we wanted to avoid and pointed out things that we wouldn’t have even considered as being important.

TL; DR: Hillary is amazing. Get her to be your broker.

Longer version:

I am one of those people that will spend copious amounts of time researching minutiae. Just to give you one example: I once spent an hour perusing reviews on water bottles before selecting one for my son. (In case you're wondering: HydroFlask. And it's excellent.) So, you can imagine the time I spent looking for someone who was going to lead me to what I hoped to be our forever home. Hillary had rave reviews from the community. People said things like, "Not just a broker, but a true friend." I am a skeptical person by nature, but now, after having worked with Hillary for over a year, I can say the reviews are true.

Hillary was extremely patient with us in a market where she could have been anything but. We looked at and rejected many homes for details I imagine others may not have even noticed. Far from getting frustrated with our pickiness (really mine more than my husband's), Hillary would say things like, "Don't worry, this helps us get closer to the house that will be THE ONE." And "It's always nice to see you" (when I felt like I was wasting her time, passing on so many houses). She will not pressure you to buy something you're not fully committed to. At one point, I did feel like I wanted to put an offer in on something "just to be done with this market," and she advised us not to do it because we clearly weren't in love. She could have made her commission and walked away from us picky buyers, but she knew it wasn't in our best interest and she encouraged us to hold out for THE ONE.

I am so glad that she did. A month or so after I proposed making an offer on that property we really weren't in love with, we found THE ONE. Because Hillary knows the area so well, she was able to help us with so many details above and beyond what a broker typically might do. She has a list of contractors, flooring people, decorators, etc. at the ready, so that as we prepare to move into the home, I don't have to spend hours online researching them. (Could you imagine how much time I would spend researching them if I spent an hour researching water bottles?) I know that if Hillary recommends them, they are solid.

One more thing: if building community is important to you, Hillary will help you with that too. She is always organizing and inviting her clients to community events (backyard party at her home and tennis and lunch, to name just a couple). She also sponsors/fundraises for various groups in the community. I love that my husband and I were able to support this indirectly by working with Hillary, and I also love that we got to benefit by it directly by attending some of these events.

If you're planning to move to the area, get Hillary to be your broker. You'll see for yourself how amazing she is.

Hillary was the seller’s agent for the home we purchased, and after our agent suddenly passed away a couple of months after we moved in, Hillary took us under her wing. She has been integral in our experience as first-time home buyers (and she wasn’t even our agent!). Hillary, to this day, continues to be my go-to person for all community questions, and requests for the best recommendations: where can I get a dress altered? best caterer in town? landscapers? handyman? best walking path? would it be worth adding a bathroom and redoing the kitchen in our home? what is the cut-off date for when my toddler to start kindergarten (all districts are different)?

Hillary is so patient!

Like many, it took us a while to decide on what home was right for us. And she showed us a ton of houses, and so many were beautiful and so close to what we wanted. She’s kind of Like the Mayor of Briarcliff, and knew everyone and every spot in town.

When we found the one, Hillary moved quick to get the team moving for us (she can also be Like a general!). We closed quickly and moved in fast. But you always need something done when you move into a house, and Hillary had someone for every task we had to cover.
