Working with his spouse, Becky Haynie, CRS, in real estate sales on Lake Martin and land sales in central Alabama, Howard and Becky live on the central part of Lake Martin in The Ridge (www.theridgeonlakemartin.com). They have two children, a daughter who is a freshman at Auburn University, WAR EAGLE, and a son, who is a freshman at Benjamin Russell High School, GO WILDCATS. As members of the Willow Point Golf and Country Club, their family enjoys the full Lake Martin experience - golfing, boating, fishing, and enjoying the lake people and lake life - the camaraderie of being blessed to live and work at this very special place in Alabama, Lake Martin.
Prior to moving to Lake Martin full-time, Howard and Becky owned and operated a cattle and timber farm in Elmore County. Although they sold the cows and subdivided part of the farm, they continue to enjoy managing their Treasure Forest in Elmore County.
Howard spent the first part of his real estate career working for the farmers and rural landowners of the state at two cooperative lending institutions - First South Farm Credit, and Alabama Ag Credit (previously known as the Federal Land Bank Association of South Alabama).
As a Certified General Real Property Appraiser with over 20 years experience in appraising rural properties across Alabama, it was a natural progression to form Howard W. Haynie & Associates, Inc. a commercial real estate appraisal company specializing in the appraisal of rural properties in Alabama - farmland, timberland, vacant commercial land, poultry farms, specialized ag facilities, conservation easements, and other rural properties.
