We have worked with many Maryland realtors in the past with the sale and purchase of homes, but the one that stands out among all of them is Jake Sweitzer. Our family had the pleasure of working with Jake this summer on the sale of our home. From our first meeting, he was knowledgeable, professional, and focused on what we needed to do to make our home sell fast and for top dollar. Our initial meeting began with all of the research he had already conducted about the market in our area. He had done so much for us already with the comps and information he had gathered! When he walked through our home, he pointed out all of the great things about the house that we could highlight when marketing. He suggested specific but easy and reasonable improvements, and we appreciated that he didn’t give us a long list of projects to complete.

After the first meeting, Jake continued to communicate with us regularly. We contacted him often with questions, and he never hesitated to answer thoroughly and thoughtfully. He was a great guide, always taking the time to explain the process to us. His list of contacts in the area is invaluable for any work that needs to be done to a home, and it was nice to have trusted and vetted contractors to call that we didn’t have to try to find on our own. Once our home was prepped on our end, Jake came in to stage it for photos. He was able to take our everyday items and rearrange them to make our house look like a showpiece! He has an eye for design and staging, and we appreciated that he worked with what we had.

Throughout the process of selling, we felt like we were Jake’s only clients, although we knew we weren’t. He dedicated so much of his time and effort to marketing and open houses for us. He is fantastic with communication with buyers’ agents, and he went to bat for us when we encountered some unreasonable requests. He is not afraid to assert himself to ensure that his client is getting the best possible scenario, which for us included handling some incredible eleventh-hour demands from the buyers. When we had to move out of state before closing, he was even able to facilitate a long-distance home sale so we didn’t have to travel back to sign paperwork.

Jake truly knows how to sell a home, and we really felt like he cared so much about our family and our home sale through the entire process. He has experience and expertise that other agents can’t compete with. Jake is the realtor to call if you need to sell a home in Maryland!

Jake is a rockstar, simply put. My husband and I had to move out of our forever home in California, and find a new life here in Maryland, which was a process filled with both grief and promise. Jacob was like an extended family member, making sure we were comfortable, had immense patience for all the amenities and features we wanted within our budget. He was extremely knowledgeable about Maryland, it’s laws, and the different tests that are required - things we had never heard of in California. He went to bat for us when our seller had repairs to make, and followed through with them. He reassured us when we had doubts, and we now view him as a friend, keeping in touch. My husband and I recommend him 100%. He goes the extra mile, and is a class act through and through. Did I mention he made a list of local food & craft beer spots that we had to check out while we were here?! It really helped with our transition to east coast life!

Professional and knowledgeable- Jake does his homework (over and beyond) and worked to make our home dreams come true. His network within the industry was invaluable (photos, marketing, inspections, lender, title co. etc etc). Choosing a realtor with experience and knowledge was our first (and not our last with Jake’s guidance) good decision in the whole process.

I started working with Jake in October of 2021. We first met at his centrally-located office in Millersville, where he walked me through each step of the home-buying process. As a first-time home buyer, questions—both expected and unexpected—are bound to pop up. Jake carefully and thoughtfully addressed all of my concerns, and he knew the right questions to ask as he learned what I wanted in a home. Something I learned that day is home buying is a team sport. Jake assembled a group of home-buying professionals—from an inspector, to a mortgage loan officer, and others—who played a vital role in getting me to the finish line. I left his office that day free of worry and full of excitement.

As we navigated the home-buying process together, I was impressed by Jake’s consistent open communication and flexibility. In particular, Jake has the remarkable quality of making you feel like his only client—when, in fact, Jake works tirelessly with many people. Jake accomodated my schedule when we toured homes around Maryland, and he was available to text and talk in the early morning hours and in evenings, too.
Throughout the process, I made two offers that were rejected and one that was accepted. Although both of those rejections were far less chilling than the pet tarantula that surprised us at one listing, Jake was unmatched in his resolve to help me find a house and community that I could call home. Indeed, Jake sent 117 hand-addressed letters to a particular community I was interested in. For so many reasons, Jake is a superstar realtor—but if I had to pick just one, this would be it.

As a first time home buyer, the entire process of purchasing a house can be overwhelming. From the beginning of the process, Jake was communicative, informative, and made the process fun and exciting. He was able to accommodate my work schedule as a teacher which made the whole process so much easier. Jake was incredibly knowledgeable about the area where I wanted to buy, and if he didn't know the answer to my questions, I only needed to wait a little while for him to find out the answers. I appreciate his honesty about the houses and process of house buying. In addition, Jake chooses great people to work with. Jake helped to make the home buying process very simple, efficient and worry free. He explained a complicated process in an easy to understand format for people that never had any experience buying a home before. He was always extremely quick to reply and answered every question we could think of at almost any time of day, reducing worry greatly. Jake was a pleasure to work with earlier this summer! We met him on a Friday and went over what we were looking for...the following Monday evening he showed us eight Baltimore City properties that fit our budget, had features we wanted, and were in neighborhoods we liked. It was about nine o’clock when we got to the last home of the night and it was perfect. The home had only been on the market for one day. We both knew we wanted it. Upon leaving the house, he sprung in to action (from his parked car) making contact with the listing agent. He got us the papers to sign by midnight. Good thing he went above and beyond because ours was the first of a few offers made that Tuesday morning and our bid was accepted!
He was by our side and stayed in contact with us during the inspections, repairs, final walk through and at the closing...all went smoothly. We enjoyed working with Jake and we love our new home!

I reached out to Jake because he is the designated realtor for the teacher incentive program that my teacher's union offers. He quickly got in touch with me to discuss the process of selling my home and purchasing a new one. Over the course of the past 9 months, he has helped us prepare for the transition, and then he helped us successfully sell our townhome and purchase our dream single family home. I was so happy with his help that I also referred him to my sister, and he quickly sold her townhome as well. Jake was never pushy, full of helpful information, and willing to go the extra mile to get things done quickly and well for us. He also made excellent recommendations for other vendors we could use. This was a busy year for us professionally, so we never could have moved if we hadn't been able to rely on Jake to handle all the details.
