About Jean

I have lived and worked in the San Francisco Bay Area for almost thirty years and know that this is one of the best places in which to live. Yes, the home prices tend to be higher than in other parts of the country, but there’s a reason for this – temperate climate, beautiful views, a bustling city with smaller communities nearby…what more could one want?

I am committed to listening carefully to your needs and providing the appropriate service and information in order to help you fulfill your real estate goals. I will work diligently to make sure your home finding or home selling experience is a memorable one. I specialize in buying and selling homes in Millbrae, Burlingame, San Bruno, South San Francisco, Daly City and throughout the Peninsula, with specific expertise in Millbrae.

A California native, I first came to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1985 to study Biochemistry at U.C. Berkeley. Like many others, I fell in love with the Bay Area and have been here ever since with my husband and two daughters.

My passion has always been to help others, especially in the area of education. I served for two years as the Director of Impacting Asian Communities for Tomorrow (ImpACT), where I planned and supervised various academic enrichment programs for under-privileged Asian youth and elementary school students in inner-city Oakland. At Taylor Middle School in Millbrae, I took on a variety of responsibilities as Volunteer Coordinator, Newsletter Editor, Communications Chair, and Executive Vice President. Moving on to Mills High School, I had the privilege to be the Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, and Co-President, as well as being the chair person for the annual Mills Mania Fundraiser event for several years. Every year, I have continued to volunteer as an “alumni parent” and host a Shredding Party to provide free shredding services to the community while raising money for Mills High.

As a real estate agent, I understand that buying or selling a home is so much more than a business transaction. For many, buying a home is one of the largest investments in one’s life, and not a decision to be rushed into or taken lightly. It can symbolize a new phase in life or the realization of a hard-earned dream. Likewise, selling a home also marks a major transition in life, sometimes exciting and sometimes difficult.

Whatever the situation, my goal is to help make the transition as smooth as possible for you.

There are so many real estate agents to choose from in the Bay Area (we’ve worked with several over the years). However, experience has taught me that agents really do make a difference and it’s important to choose someone who is knowledgeable, dependable and responsive. We just sold a house in South San Francisco and it was a great experience – everything went smoothly, we got over the asking price, and it closed in less than 30 days. I highly recommend Jean Joh for these reasons:

•Personable and easy to work with – Jean has excellent communication skills (clear, succinct) and gave us updates on a continuous basis via email and/or text. She’s also detail-oriented and has excellent follow-through, which rate VERY HIGHLY on my list of criteria.
•Responsive – the one thing I love about Jean is that she always gets back to me right away (there’s nothing more annoying that someone ignoring your calls\emails!). If she happened to be occupied with something else, she’d let me know that she couldn’t respond at that time, and then tell me when she would get back to me. It felt to me like she was working for us 24/7 (and I know she has plenty of other clients).
•Knowledgeable – Jean demonstrated strong knowledge about real estate in the Bay Area and offered us helpful guidance throughout the whole process. If she didn’t know the answer (e.g., impact on taxes), she’d tell us and recommend who we should speak with. She walked us through the whole process, told us what to expect, explained the “fine print” behind what we were signing, etc.
•Integrity – after working with Jean on a couple of home sales, I fully trust her advice and recommendations. This is critically important since real estate involves some of the biggest financial decisions we make.

There should be an option for 10 stars! And they should be platinum, better than gold!

As a fellow real estate agent and broker/owner of my own real estate company in far northern California, I am extremely impressed with Jean.

As a colleague, I know what to look for ...and Jean has it! Her whole aura is levels above most in this profession. She is a true professional. What does that mean? Well, she is dedicated to helping people through the process, no matter how long it takes or what challenges come up (and believe me, in real estate, there are always challenges), she is thorough, detail-oriented, caring, honest, "cool, calm and collected" at all times, and has a deep humility that is rare. She is organized, on-time, has "her people," works very well with others and "gets the job done." She takes her fiduciary duties seriously; when you are dealing with the largest investment of your life, you MUST be able to trust your real estate argent. Jean tops the list!

There are many "salespersons" who are only eager to "get the next sale"; and then there are those very rare real estate professionals who truly understand and bring the whole human approach to this process of selling (or buying) a home. They are genuine, honest, caring, humble, and see their work as a mission of sorts, a mission to help their fellow human beings through what can be a most challenging process of selling a family home or buying their first ever home: Jean Joh is that person.

This was a very difficult process for my siblings and I; to "let go" of the home we all grew up in, spent holidays in as adults with our own children, had weddings, birthday parties, and many other life events in, over the course of 60 years ...Jean's sensitivities, cool and calm demeanor when things got emotional for us, gentle persuasions and kind care and respect for our feelings and for the home was profound. She showed her tenderness and care from her first walk-through. As a "colleague," I was doubly impressed by her thoroughness in understanding the entire property and all of its nooks and crannies and idiosyncrasies (an 1894 Victorian has lots of both!) We had already interviewed 3 other agents, but Jean "blew each of them out of the water" with her attention to detail, follow-up, care for our wishes and concerns, and sensitivities to our memories, the "loss" of our parents... and now the family home.

Jean knows her market very well. AND she knew the BEST strategy for pricing and negotiations to bring in the highest and best offer. She is a magic genie at THAT!

She earns 10 PLATINUM stars in my book. I am extremely PROUD to call her a fellow Realtor, and highly, HIGHLY recommend her. (But, I am guessing you figured that out already.)
