Jere Horning

Jere Horning has lived in the Finger Lakes region for 40 years and wants to help others that are looking to buy or sell their home.

In 1999 Jere started an excavating business. This gave him tremendous experience with drainage, septic systems, site work, and all other aspects of construction. He successfully ran that business until he sold it in 2011 when another business opportunity arose. In 2012 Jere and his wife Danette bought the family business; Horning's Greenhouse & Garden Center just north of Penn Yan.

After joining the Benton Volunteer Fire Department in 1993 Jere has held many officer positions and has been an active member ever since. He serves on the board of directors for the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Yates County, Christian Aid Ministries rapid response team & Mennonite Gospel Missions.

Jere has been involved in auctions and started auctioneering part-time for other auction companies in 2008. After getting requests to hold auctions for other people Horning Auction Company was formed in 2015 with his brother Ivan as a partner. They hold auctions for estates, business liquidations, and private property.
After graduating from Missouri Auction School Jere was inspired to acquire his real estate license, and now is here to help you sell your property by auction or with traditional listing.
