Jim Van Zanten

Jim Van Zanten is a seasoned real estate professional with 43 years of experience and well over $1,400,000,000 in personal sales. Jim has been fortunate to operate several prominent real estate companies in the South Bay Area. He founded South Bay Brokers Inc. with a partner in 1985 and after attaining 1 billion dollars annually in gross sales, he merged the company with Vista Sotheby's Int'l Realty in 2015. Jim is still active as manager at Vista Sotheby's. Vista Sotheby's is a full-service real estate firm with 250 agents under the brokerage. Vista now mainly operates in the Palos Verdes peninsula, Long Beach, Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, El Segundo and Manhattan Beach. Each year Vista closes over $1,500,000,000 in residential home sales.

Van Zanten Group: Jim leads the Van Zanten Group within Vista Sotheby's. A team of several agents, assistants and design professionals dedicated to their clients, who's sales volume has reached 80 million dollars annually. Many of Jim's clients are entrepreneurs, execs, and business owners. He has an active portfolio of 200+ clients. Many clients continue working with Jim for years, and have had great financial success following Jim's real estate insight. Real Estate Development: Jim has personally developed over 100 new homes, townhomes, and apartment units. Many of these projects have been 4- to 12+unit townhome projects in the South Bay area. Jim has built seven apartment projects in the Manhattan Beach area, totaling 43 units. He has also developed 20 homes in the Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach area, with an individual market value of 1.5 million to 5 million. Since 2017, Jim has finished four developments (single family homes) that sold for 2.9, 3.45, 4.1 & 4.5 million dollars. In 2020, Jim completed an 11-unit apartment project with a value over $10,000,000 in Manhattan Beach.

Real Estate Investment & Property Management: Jim is an avid investor and owns many investment properties. To manage these properties and his clients' investments, Jim started Marine View Management Inc. in 1990. This way, his clients' investments can get the management they deserve.

Escrow Company e-escrows Inc.: Jim & his wife Jean Van Zanten operate e-escrows Inc. Jim is President and Jean is Vice President of this corporation. Since 2004, e-escrows has closed $3.6 billion dollars in sale transactions and $2.2 billion dollars in loan transactions.
