Our story dates back to the beginning of the pandemic. After spending three months in quarantine, we decided to take a road trip to Lake Martin. My great aunt and uncle owned a home there when I was a child and I have very fond memories of our lake adventures. In July 2020, we rented a house to escape the "new norm" and after spending one long weekend on the lake, we set out on a new adventure - house hunting.

I wanted a Realtor who was up-to-date on market conditions and knew the area well, so I took a chance and reached out to the president of the local Realtor association. That was Jimmy Baker, broker/owner of Lake Dog Realty. He was responsive, knowledgeable and most of all patient. In a hot market, with extremely limited housing inventory fueled by record low interest rates, multiple offers is a given. We looked at over 25 properties in 8 months, and finally....the stars aligned. Our offer was accepted on "THE ONE!" Our family now owns a little piece of heaven to relax and enjoy time together.

Jimmy is the best realtor anyone could hope for! We lucked out and got set up with him through Zillow and I'm just so glad we did! We were looking to buy our very first home - a process we were obviously not very familiar with. Jimmy walked us through each step with patience, care, and experience. He genuinely cared about us and our goals, and he made sure we took the appropriate steps for our best interest. He was always accessible via text, phone, and email...there really wasn't a single time throughout the whole process that I couldn't reach him on the first try. I just can't express how sincerely I appreciated his immediate correspondence, reliable answers, and dedication to closing on the house of our dreams! Okay, so this is going to be a long one but I assure you that it's very worth your while to read.

After going through some personal stuff, I needed to buy a house. Jimmy and I spoke on the phone and that's how he and I started working together.

I had a pretty good idea of what I could afford and I had previously owned a few homes over the past 10 years. From the first time he and I met I knew he was the best realtor that I had worked with. He was always punctual, polite and wanting to get to know me beyond just what kind of house I wanted.

He explained everything to me, every step of the way and never once made me feel like a question I had was silly. He never once gave me the run around or didn't call me back. That's Jimmy, he's incredibly easy to get a hold of and he's incredibly caring about his clients.

So, after seeing a few houses he helped me settle on one that I was really interested in. Now, in less than 72 hours, I'll be closing on my first house for myself.

Jimmy, his wife and his business partner John are without a doubt the ideal people you want to work with when looking for a new home. It's not all about his commission or the money, they each really do care about you as a person.

There may be a lot of agents in the area but I swear you won't find an agency like Lake Dog anywhere. These people care about their clients and they treat them like family.

To Jimmy, his staff, John.... Thank you for getting me the house of my dreams. I could not have done it without you all and I will never be able to tell you thank you enough.

So in closing, yes... I would recommend Lake Dog and Jimmy to anyone and everyone!
