JJ Hewitt

JJ is a PNW native and will gladly tell you why it is the best place to live. The son of a Realtor and a Mortgage Officer, he began his real estate journey at an early age. It was not uncommon to spend weekends setting up signs or helping to hold open houses and talk of mortgage rates and market conditions was always dinnertime conversation. It was learned early on that being a realtor means challenging work, consistency and a spirit of service to help people achieve their personal and financial goals.

He came to the city he loves in 2000 to kick off his career as a historian for a storied Portland company. He was part of a small team that researched, acquired, developed, and rehabbed or renovated historic properties throughout Oregon and Washington. For a decade he remained in this role, researching, writing and consulting about the history of Portland, its neighborhoods, architecture and the city’s development. This experience helped fuel a passion for this city and imparted on him how the story of one’s surroundings has power to help define all else. The lessons learned continue to inform JJ’s life today and you would be hard pressed to find an agent that knows more about the rich history, architecture & neighborhood history of this town.
