For more than 10 years, Joanne Nickles has called Deep Creek her home, splitting her time between her family’s home in Virginia and their home away from home here at the lake. The laid back and outdoor lifestyle of the area fits her active lifestyle. Joanne enjoys skiing at Wisp Resort in the winter, golfing the beautiful local courses, and spending time on their boat during the warm summer months. Knowing they wanted to invest in this community and build a life here, Joanne and her husband purchased Xtreme Powersports and Marine in 2017.
Her love for adventure and travel has taken Joanne all across the world, visiting twenty countries and spending two years in Crete, Greece. Despite her world travels, though, there’s no place quite like Deep Creek Lake. Prior to her time at Deep Creek, Joanne was a teacher for 17 years and spent 8 years in the marketing field prior that. She earned her degree in Criminal Justice from the University of North Dakota. In addition to their ownership of Xtreme Powersports here in Garrett County, Joanne and her husband are also part owners of popular establishments in Nashville, TN.
