About Jodi
I can't wait to put my love of houses, research and design skills, and knowledge of Southeastern North Carolina to work for you! As your Realtor®, I will develop a plan customized for your real estate needs. As your listing agent, using targeted marketing utilizing Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage's tools and my own research skills, I will customize a marketing plan based on demographic, tax, agent contact, and multiple listing service information to put your home in front of qualified buyers. As your buyer's agent, I will create a shopping plan based on your personal needs determined in an in depth interview and search for homes using the multiple listing service, for sale by owner sites/signs, social media, agent contacts, and more.
A little about me...
A lifelong resident of Southeastern North Carolina, I have always savored the uniqueness of our area. From the salt air of the Atlantic to the lush green landscapes, I am home. Growing up in the small town of Beulaville in Duplin County, I grew to love houses, homes. My mama would make me go to bed after a long day and night of moving the furniture around my bedroom creating the perfect "apartment" and drawing floor plans. Yet being from such a small town, one had to "go to town" (Wilmington in our case) for shopping. We spent our summers on Topsail Island, cruising the Intracoastal at Wrightsville Beach, or surf fishing at Ft. Fisher on Pleasure Island. I fell in love with the Wilmington area way back then and when the time for college rolled around, I decided to go to the University of North Carolina - Wilmington in 1988...and basically, I never left!
During high school, college, and my young adulthood, Mama and I would tour open houses, go on the Parade of Homes, and plan weekends around new neighborhood design tours in Raleigh, Greensboro, and Winston-Salem developing and magnifying my love of homes. After graduating from UNC-Wilmington with a BA in political science, I began teaching high school social studies (another love of mine) in Brunswick County while living in Castle Hayne. During my six years teaching there, friends would often ask me to help them decorate their homes. I cherished each time I was able to help a friend make their house feel like home. Thus, began my interior design career...which would lead me on to Real Estate where touring homes would become a career!
After having two precious children and years of design work, I opened a retail and design shop in the ol' brick building in Hampstead later moving it into Wilmington for a few years. My family began self-contracting the building of our home in Rocky Point of Pender County and moved in 2005. What an experience! I loved the process of selling my home and searching for land and home plans! All of those research skills I'd learned from my political science days were definitely put to good use.
I began teaching at Cape Fear Elementary School for two years until moving to the little town I'd seen grow from a tiny little village my family would drive through when I was a child on our way from Topsail to Wilmington (stopping in to shop at the doll house store for you who have lived here long enough) that has now become the home of an excellent school district, shopping in its own right, water access, and much more...Hampstead.
As I later taught at North Topsail Elementary School, I continued to help friends with décor decisions as well as researching homes and neighborhoods for them when they were buying or selling homes. My passion for real estate grew until I, with my amazing husband's support, decided it was time to work towards my North Carolina Real Estate License!
Now, as a real estate broker, I am able to use my research skills to facilitate you in your search for a new home and/or in selling your existing home as well as my interior design expertise in staging your homes and finding that
