Jody earned a bachelor of arts in Economics from CSU Fullerton in 1993. He worked for several years at a regional investment banking firm as a retail stock broker. He successfully helped raise funds for several companies through both private placement and public stock offerings.
Following his entrepreneurial instincts, he went on to open, own and operate more than a dozen self-defense studios from California and Oregon all the way to Texas. As the number one franchisee for over 20 years, his studios made made substantial positive impacts on their respective communities. The majority of them are still operating under employee ownership today.
In 2013, Jody founded Alpha Project Americas, a tax-exempt charitable organization who’s mission is to establish multiple, self-sustaining safe havens for at-risk youth in Latin America and the US. With sports outreach programs in Costa Rica, Alpha has worked to uplift the youth impoverished communities. Alpha has also provided prosthetic limbs for the needy.
Jody’s broad, lengthy and diverse experience in small business, finance and charity organizations allows him to clearly understand clients’ needs AND how to meet them. He is a problem solver, a doer and a go-getter.
Jody currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Charitable Foundation, Santa Barbara Chapter.
