John has been added to the America's Best list, and Real Trends top 1.5% of Real Estate professionals in the U.S. and is a fourth generation real estate agent in the town of Greenwich. John meets and exceeds his clients' goals time and time again. With over 25 years of experience, and extensive knowledge of the marketplace, John has listed and sold a wide range of properties, in all areas of Greenwich including multiple homes located in Belle Haven, Mead Point and Harbor Point. He has a great depth of knowledge when working as a buyer and sellers representative and negotiated and closed a number of transactions from Single Family Homes, Condominiums and land purchases for his clients.
With in-depth knowledge and extensive experience in the home improvement business, John works especially well with home sellers and buyers, and is able to recognize the potential of a home, as well as certain problems that an inexperienced eye may overlook. Having the ability and expertise to navigate the Town Hall and its various departments, such as Planning and Zoning, Wetlands, the Building Department and the Health Department; John is an effective advocate when researching specific properties and solving any issues that may arise.
John Bates joins Houlihan Lawrence from Sotheby's International Realty. He brings a powerful and effective marketing program that supply local, national and global exposure to his real estate career. A Graduate of the Greenwich Country Day School, and of Greenwich High School, John has an intimate understanding of the community's both public and private school systems. He received a BA from Lynchburg University.
John is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Connecticut Association of Realtors, the Greenwich Multiple Listing Service, the Greenwich Association of Realtors, and he currently serves on several professional committees including heading the waterfront committee for the Belle Haven Club.
