John has been a resident on Seattle’s Eastside for most of his life. What sets John apart is the dedication with which he has pursued his passions. From an early career in football, to the development of a non-profit organization, to the heart of his life – his family – John has never wavered in the strength of his personal integrity and has carried an inner core of perseverance throughout his personal and professional lives.

John is a dedicated husband and father to three amazing children. He has lived on the Eastside most of his life and is honored to be a member of this great community. John was fortunate to have a career in athletics, which became a major chapter in his life. He was a non-scholarship walk on for the University of Washington Football program. After the first year, he was awarded a full scholarship. By demonstrating leadership skills, John was voted team co-captain by his peers. After graduating from college, John spent the next six years in the N.F.L. with the Pittsburgh Steelers. By displaying his work ethic and dedication, John’s fellow teammates elected him Special Teams Captain for four consecutive years. After a successful career in athletics, John knew it was time to come home to Washington.
John help co-found and sponsored the nonprofit organization called The Madhouse Project. He helped form this charity to benefit the fight against cancer. The Madhouse Project pared up with the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. The SCCA is an organization whose mission is supporting world-class cancer research and advancing the standard of cancer patient care. John is passionate about his work, family, and community. The Madhouse Project raised over a million dollars over a ten-year period.
