I am John E. Honegger III, and I am:
A man of Faith.
A Loving Husband;
A Dedicated Father/ (Great)Grandfather;
A Musician;
A Licensed eXp Realtor, and I'm an Investor as well as an Entrepreneur.
My story began in Texas, Grand Prairie, Texas to be specific, and I was born on a street called "Music Way". Ironically, for fun, I credit this for me taking up the drums in the seventh grade! This led to me majoring in music in college, chasing that dream for a time, but I've been beating the crap out of inanimate objects ever since!
I am the third in a line of "John E. Honegger(s)", and have definitely inherited the strong values that've been passed down my lineage through generations, so it is 111% ingrained within me the fact that:
If I want something in life, anything at all, if it is in God's will I shall have it through the fruit of my labor -- for nothing is free.
This doesn't just extend to wants and desires, but also needs:
Necessity, and responsibility have obviously played a massive role within my life. Allow 1986 to mark what would be the beginning of a "No regrets, lessons learned" chapter in my life for this was the year I married my wife, and together we would raise four beautiful daughters while I toiled away through IT to support the family throughout the years.
In January of 2001, the Tech sector crashed but I still had to work six more months to get a severance. Five short months after, my dad would pass away in June, and my time at the job was up in July.
As you may have already discerned, 2001 September 11th was just right around the corner, and when that happened the Tech Sector was completely toast!
I couldn’t find a new job fast enough and this led to my family being kicked out of our house! I was helpless to stop repossessions, a foreclosure and ultimately... a bankruptcy. I never wanted to experience this again, but truly with the way things had played out I was dealing with what was essentially a "Nuclear Bomb on My Credit".
These events really gave me my first inkling of thought. I looked at real estate, and read "Rich Dad, Poor Dad", by Robert Kiyosaki. After a fair share of real estate courses... I saw an opportunity to head back into IT... and I took it. Times were hard, and I needed the security before anything else. It's an easy choice to make especially as a family man.
Things were manageable, and many memories were to be made in this time, but by 2017, a great misfortune took my career by hold... Can you guess what it was?
Spoiler:
Layoff. AGAIN!
The process was beginning to repeat. I had already lost one home, and here I was being faced with two options.
1. Sell
2. Foreclosure
I spoke with a realtor who told me that as long as we are under contract he could get the mortgage company not to auction the house off. Well, I sought to verify that, so I contacted the mortgage company, "Hi, this is John Honegger, checking to see if you're still going to auction my house off", and they confidently replied "Yes Sir, Mr. Honegger we are".
Naturally, I panicked, and knew that I needed a solution, because foreclosure was simply not an option.
Memory served me well, and I recalled another realtor who had told me about a unique program to sell my house, so I called him up and I am glad I made that decision. Here's what happened!
His investment partner? He got me right out of that foreclosure threat. I signed my house over to him and he gave me 16K, in addition to ample time for moving out my family's belongings.
Next, he brought my mortgage to current, and kept it current for three months while he
