John Thomas McMackin, born and raised in west Fort Worth, attended Arlington Heights High School. In 1990 John graduated from Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in Finance and minoring in Real Estate. Immediately after graduation, he went to work for Fort Worth based Sid Richardson Carbon and Gasoline Co., eventually earning a corporate position as production manager for their Carbon Black division. After eight years with Sid Richardson, John worked for another Fort Worth based organization, Chemical Lime Company, a global producer of calcium oxide, also known as “lime.” While there, he worked for Tom Chambers, who John credits for taking the organization from a single plant lime producer to a global producer and distributor of lime and lime based products. During his tenure at Chemical Lime, John gained invaluable experience in Supply Chain Logistics, Asset Management and Utilization, SAP Implementation, and Customer Satisfaction / Retention.
In 2005 John left “Corporate America” to develop real estate, partnering with Fort Worth based Menard Doswell & Company. Over the last 12 years, John gained in-depth knowledge and experience in Site Selection, Land Entitlement, Shell Building Construction, Tenant Fit Out Construction, Commercial Lease Negotiations, and Tenant Retention/Renegotiation. From small commercial office projects in Granbury, TX, to large industrial warehouse projects in Washington, DC., John can do it all.
John’s tenure as a true real estate developer has given him in-depth exposure and knowledge to all facets of commercial real estate development. He is eager to put that knowledge and experience to work for you.
John proudly calls Aledo home. His daughter attends The College of Charleston in Charleston, SC, and his son attends college at Sewanee, “The University of the South,” in southern Tennessee. In his free time, if he is not hunting, you can find him fishing or on the golf course. John served on the Board of Directors of The Sportsmen’s Club of Fort Worth for over ten years.
He is a member of SCI, Alumni of Schreiner University, The Steeplechase Club of Fort Worth, and actively attends Christ Chapel Bible Church West in Hudson Oaks.
John’s personal philosophy isn’t just words, it’s a principle he lives by: “There is no better gift that you could give a young person than to introduce them to God’s great outdoors!”
