John Menke was great! You will be in good hands if you hire John. He knows the ins and outs of selling and is obviously a seasoned agent. He was extremely reliable and professional. He did what he said he’d do when he said it: like take the garbage bins to the street, calls when he says he will and follows up. He even took care of larger fixes on his own saving me from the big hassle, like installing the diving board, which would help the house sell. John treated my home like it was his home sale, and would check in on the empty home after showings to make sure everything was secure. During negotiating and deciding on buyers, he helped me make the decision and getting past the last hump by asking directly a key question: “what is it that you want to get out of this” and that helped us together come up with a counter-offer that I was comfortable with and that wasn’t too outrageous for the buyer. It was a smooth process, aided by the fact that it is a seller’s market right now.

I would consider myself as somewhat of a difficult client, but John never once made me feel like it. It took me 7 months to find & close on our home. It didn’t matter what time a day I called or texted John, he would answer right away. John took on a hard HUD case that he had never done before... but you would have never known it. We are so impressed with Johns knowledge in real estate, it was actually mind blowing. I would rate John a 10 out of 10 & highly recommended him.

Do yourself a favor and have John Menke as your agent. We were shopping from Virginia for a house in Orange County. John suggested lenders and vendors to help with the process. He went to every house we asked about and took video since the pictures of the houses for sale used angles selected by sellers and their agents to show the best of the houses and not the worst. For example, we loved a 1920’s bungalow in Fullerton, but didn’t notice that there were no photos of closets. That was because there were almost no closets! We would have put money on that house if John hadn’t gone and made a video and sent it in an email the same day. (We were leaving a home with 3 walk-in closets.) John answers his phone always. We were calling at times convenient to us from the east coast and he answered even if it was inconvenient on the west coast. Our closing was complicated, so John was constantly checking in with the lender and the bank to be sure everything was on the right track. We felt like we were his only clients although he closed several houses and had properties for sale during our buying time. Also, he was tireless in his work even before we were viable buyers because it took longer than we expected to sell our house in Virginia. He went out looking at properties for us anyway so he would have a sense of what we liked once our house sold and we had only 2 weeks to decide on what to buy. He was able to negotiate terms with our seller that are unusual in this day and age. He is a diplomat, a gentleman and a great bargainer!
