Joseph Nugent

Nugent Real Estate, Inc. started as a direct correlation of Joe Nugent’s upbringing. Raised on a farm located in Manteno Township. Joe worked very closely with his family in operating the grain farm, which produced corn and beans. Joe started his sales career with a sweet corn stand on a corner of a heavily traveled highway. He loved interacting with all the people and thought a sales career would be a good fit. Prior to his graduation from Marquette University, Joe had an internship with a large commercial real estate company in Milwaukee. After getting a Bachelor of Science degree, He made his first endeavor into real estate by joining a local commercial real estate company. He spent five years there and worked on various sales, lease and development deals in the agricultural, retail, office, industrial and multi-family fields.

Joe also got involved with politics. While serving as Alderman of the 5th Ward in the City of Kankakee, he had a great opportunity to work with Mayor Green, his fellow alderman, the city, staff and all the residents. This very rewarding experience gave Joe a deep understanding of local politics and the governmental process.

Joe started Nugent Real Estate, Inc. in February of 2004 as a full-service real estate company based in Kankakee County. Commercial, residential and agricultural real estate sales are the focus of the company. While keeping the company small in the first two years to streamline getting the company off the round, Joe has gained a good knowledge of the inner workings of a startup business. In 2007 Joe joined with longtime friend and former colleague Chris Curtis in creating Nugent Curtis Real Estate.

Joe believes in supporting the professional and civic communities and is heavily involved with several local organizations serving as 2007 President of The Kankakee County Association of Realtors, Ambassador with the Kankakee Regional Chamber of Commerce, Parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church and member of the Kankakee Regional Young Professionals.
