After calling California my home for her entire life, Karen was invited to a family reunion on the Eastern slope. With Grand Junction just over the pass, a trip to visit an old friend was added to her agenda. Karen’s four-day visit turned into an end-to-end tour of the Valley. A good dose of real estate touring convinced Karen that Mesa County would be a wonderful place to live and work. When she returned home, Karen sold two houses and packed everything she owned. With her husband driving the U-Haul, she followed behind with her thirteen-year-old rescue dog, Business, in the back seat. Karen was Colorado bound without even a glance in the rear-view mirror. Her grown daughter followed her two years later, settling in Grand Junction as well.
Karen’s Dad, a retired US Navy officer, and her mom, a real estate broker, instilled in me the value of challenging work, honesty, integrity, and their enterprising spirit. Before moving to Grand Junction, Karen owned and operated a vacation rentals and construction cleaning service. With a real estate office as her main client, Karen’s business quickly grew to include staging homes for sale. Special event planning, bartending, restaurant, and hospitality services developed in Karen a keen sense for exceptional customer service, communication, organizational skills, and keen attention to the finest details.
