Karen Yager

Since 2006, Karen has been a realtor specializing in residential, land, and farms, and has earned seven designations to better serve you. Her background has prepared her well for real estate. She started milking cows on the family farm at age 8, so she learned early how to work hard and take responsibility. She progressed to driving grain truck and a combine for many years with Hansen Harvester, her family’s custom harvest operation. In fact, Karen put herself through college with her earnings by saving carefully. In real estate, she will be as careful with your most valuable asset—your home. Client satisfaction is her Number 1 priority.

In 1990, she founded CompuTec and worked diligently to develop databases and provide computer training to hundreds of local businesses and individuals. With a Master's degree in Applied Behavioral Sciences (counseling and business consulting), she is prepared to be a good listener and a cheerleader for clients. With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish, she enjoys helping Spanish-speaking people realize their dreams of home ownership. With her designation as a Certified International Property Specialist, she assists buyers from out of the country to take advantage of local and national opportunities.

In 2001, she founded the Northwest Renewable Energy Festival. The Walla Walla Valley possesses extraordinary opportunities to use their local natural resources, namely solar, hydro, biomass, and wind energy. In 2007, because of their broader reach beyond renewable energy, they changed the name to the Sustainable Living Center (SLC), which is located at the Water & Environmental Center at Walla Walla Community College. Since 2009, the Sustainable Living Center has received over $1 million in grant funds every two years to weatherize homes in Walla Walla, Columbia, and Franklin Counties. Karen is very passionate about energy efficient homes that utilize fewer resources in construction and during their lifetime use. In real estate training, she completed her Eco-Broker designation so she can assist clients in making more informed home choices.

In 2012, she founded www.HappyHikers.us, a local hiking group that she started because she is passionate about hiking, wildlife, and everything in nature. Sign up and come on monthly hikes with the group. You’ll feel great!
