About Katherine
Since 2015, Linda Valentino and Kate Tracy Scamman have been a mother-daughter real estate team that serves Southern Maine, with emphasis on Saco and Biddeford.
Linda Valentino has been a real estate broker since 1976. At 20 years old, Linda formed her own real estate company, L.M. Valentino Associates, and worked with her father doing new home construction, development, and real estate sales. Linda served six years on the Saco City Council, and twelve years in the Maine Legislature as both as State Senator and Representative. While sharing a real estate office with her attorney father, she also was trained in paralegal work.
Kate Tracy Scamman decided she had enough of the film industry in Los Angeles in 2014. She moved back home, and got her real estate license in 2016. Now, over forty years later, Kate works with her mother doing new home construction, development, and real estate sales.
Kate and Linda offer full-time real estate services. They bring a strong work ethic and dedication to serving a full range of clients from folks looking at mobile homes to oceanfront properties. You can contact them 24-7 (Although Kate will probably answer your 2AM text messages), and we don’t take vacations.
Linda brings a unique perspective for clients wanting to downsize or purchase a home to care for an aging parent or for clients with estate sales. She realizes that the sale or purchase could take many months, or even years, to get everyone thinking alike, dealing with a lifetime of memories and de-cluttering/cleaning out their home. She encourages clients to get her involved at the beginning of the process to help with the logistics.
Kate brings the perspective of knowing that buying a house, in the post COVID economy, can be a long and frustrating process. It is important to have a Buyer Agent that can guide their clients through everything. Kate always says that this is about your emotional happiness and financial well being.
In addition to working with buyers and sellers on existing residential sales, both Kate and Linda are very involved in new construction. They work with multiple builders on new home packages. They also work closely with an investor who purchases homes for cash and remodels them for re-sale.
We have a saying that homeownership is not a "luxury". We really want to focus on our practical experience; and the full range of services we offer, whether it's helping the buyers get pre-approved, or helping the sellers' figure out where to start cleaning out the house, all the way to getting the deal closed.
