About Katie
Douglas Adams once said, ”I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.” This quote could not ring truer for Katie! Her life has been filled with seemingly incongruent experiences that have shaped her into the agent she is today. She is the daughter of a residential builder and a pastor’s wife. Katie Dinsmore has a degree in psychology and education. Her three boys have forced her to learn master negotiation tactics. Katie has owned four homes (three having become rentals). Katie has completed several marathons (both of the running and Netflix variety). With this history, she is intimately familiar with homes, knows how to walk alongside people, and can do what it takes to get a job done.
After moving to Durham in 2007, Katie and her family quickly realized that this was a place where they would thrive. Having lived in Berlin, being married to a Brazilian, and having friends from all over the world helps her appreciate the diversity the Triangle has to offer. She has served clients from five different continents!
As a Realtor and human being, Katie does her best to adhere to the extra golden rule–Do unto others as you would have them do unto your mom. (Because let’s face it, we can put up with some stuff–but don’t hurt my mama!) For Katie, this work is not about selling; it’s about listening and responding; helping and guiding; and taking an experience that can be stressful and overwhelming, and shaping it into an organized and enjoyable experience!
