Meet Kevin King, a seasoned real estate agent with an impressive career spanning several decades. Originally from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Kevin relocated to Hilton Head Island in 1983, starting his journey in the real estate industry with First Western Mortgage, where he specialized in resort lending. In 1987, he joined Kelley-Scott Real Estate, eventually becoming a partner in the firm, later renamed Prudential Hilton Head Properties in 1991. Kevin was consistently recognized as a top producer during his time with the company, significantly contributing to its success from 1987 to 1998.
Kevin's exceptional professionalism and dedication have earned him numerous accolades throughout his career. He is a lifetime member of the Board of Realtors Distinguished Sales Award (Platinum), a distinction he has qualified for every year since 1988. In addition, he was honored with membership in the Prudential Real Estate Chairman's Circle, an elite group representing the top 1% of Prudential agents nationwide from 1996 to 1998.
In January 1999, Kevin joined Charter One Realty, where he continued establishing himself as one of the leading agents in the Hilton Head and Bluffton markets. With his extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of the local real estate landscape, Kevin consistently delivers exceptional results for his clients.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Kevin has a rich personal life. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1979, where he excelled as a full scholarship athlete and even captained the golf team during his senior year. Prior to his career in real estate, Kevin played golf professionally in Florida from 1980 to 1983. His passion for the game remains strong, and he has reclaimed his amateur status, actively participating in golf-related activities.
Kevin is also a devoted family man. He and his wife Lynn have two daughters, Cameron and Victoria. Lynn recently retired in November 2022 after working as the Community Relations Outreach Manager for Tidepointe/Broad Creek Care Center, a continuing care community. Cameron, a graduate of the University of Georgia, currently holds a senior position as the Vice President of Global Communications for Marriott Vacations Worldwide, residing in Orlando, Florida, with her husband, Charlie Klaus, and their two children. Victoria, a University of South Carolina graduate, lives in Sarasota, Florida, with her husband, Kevin Basirico, and their daughter. She works alongside her husband at Barker Boatworks, overseeing production and inventory.
Outside of his professional and family life, Kevin remains actively involved in his community and pursues his interests. He served as the vice president of the Hilton Head Association of Realtors in 1998 and holds memberships at Colleton River Plantation and Secession Golf Club. Kevin is an instrument-rated pilot and a certified diver, indulging in his love for aviation and exploring the ocean's depths. Despite a temporary hiatus due to injuries, he played golf professionally again on the Champions Tour from 2007 to 2008. Now back in the amateur ranks, Kevin enjoys the game and utilizes his flying skills to conveniently travel for business and personal endeavors.
