About Kevin
“If I can take someone who is having a bad day and make them laugh or smile, that’s a legacy that can echo and impact others.” In those few words, Kevin Richter explains exactly how he takes action to leave people better than he found them. And one of the most effective ways he does that is to infuse fun into everything he does.
Born into a military family, Kevin moved around a lot and became great at making new friends. His dad was his role model and instilled in him a sense of commitment, hard work, and above all, honesty. In fact, when Kevin was in the 7th grade, an event occurred which drove those lessons home. Kevin had brought illegal fireworks to school, and he and his friends shot them off inside the gym. When called into the principal’s office, he lied about where he had gotten the fireworks. Rather than the mischievous act itself, it was lying about it that caused the most trouble. His father told him that “liars and thieves are all in the same bucket”, a statement he has never forgotten. This incident taught him the importance of telling the truth, and shaped his values from that moment forward.
After high school, Kevin attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo to study Materials Engineering. After earning his degree, he worked as an IT consultant for ten years. There, he learned a lot about business and how to work well with professionals, but it definitely wasn’t his idea of a dream job. What he really desired was to become a real estate investor, as he had witnessed many others attain financial freedom through this path. So, in true Kevin form, he took action toward that goal and invested in eleven homes around the country before he finally left his IT job. After that, he decided to add real estate sales to the picture so he could help busy professionals and transitioning seniors focus on a smooth, stress-free, and solution oriented experience. He was so knowledgeable about his home state of Utah that his clients and peers began calling him “Utah Kev”. Since that time, Kevin has helped more than 700 clients take action toward a new home and lifestyle, which is how he became known as the Action Agent®.
Today, Kevin specializes in helping seniors who are seeking a home that’s better suited to their current needs. He’s also recognized for taking action for busy professionals so progress remains underway while they continue to work. Through his strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and creative problem solving, Kevin has become known for helping sellers retain the highest net and buyers attain the best deal. Being trustworthy is very important to him, and his clients know that he has their best interests at heart.
When Kevin isn’t taking action on behalf of others, he’s staying active himself, by mountain biking, rock climbing, snowboarding, golfing, and waterfall hiking. He enjoys going on new adventures with his wife and three kids, especially cruises and visits to theme parks. Kevin isn’t looking to leave a legacy; he’s living his legacy every day by sharing a smile or a laugh that impacts everyone he encounters, from Utah and beyond.
