About Kirsten
Kirsten began her real estate career in the Washington metropolitan area in 1997 and quickly became a top producing sales associate and well respected leader in the industry. In addition to her sales role, Kirsten also serves as the Managing Broker of TTR Sotheby’s International Realty Chevy Chase office overseeing a group of 50+ real estate professionals. She is known and respected by her clients and colleagues for her professionalism, knowledge of the local real estate market, and for her exceptional understanding of the personal needs and wishes of each of her clients.
Prior to real estate, Kirsten worked for Milliken & Co in San Francisco and Knoll in Boston. The eight years she spent in the commercial furnishings world, allowed her to gain a great understanding of how construction projects flow, and the how design impacts how people use space. Those skills have been utilized almost daily in assisting Kirsten’s clients in buying or selling a home.
Kirsten and her family have resided in Section Three of Chevy Chase, Maryland since 2004. Kirsten oversaw the renovation and eventual sale of four homes, and the renovation of her fifth (where she plans to stay). She is always looking for a project, and her husband is always looking to avoid a project.
An enthusiastic community leader, Kirsten is involved in many local organizations including the Chevy Chase United Methodist Church (past Chair of Church Council and the Preschool Advisory Council), current board member of Chevy Chase Historical Society, and is an enthusiastic volunteer to the Bethesda Chevy Chase High School PTA (where her daughters both attend). She plays tennis as a member of a U.S. Tennis Association team, has participated in Triathlon relays, and has twice run in the American Odyssey Gettysburg to DC relay and even rode her bike across Iowa in RAGBRAI. Kirsten enjoys spending time with her husband John, a Senior FDIC attorney and an avid cyclist; daughters Betty and Katie, and the family's Labrador, Flounder.
Kirsten grew up in Redwood City, California and Beaverton, Oregon. She attended the University of Washington in Seattle, then transferred to Saint Mary’s College of Californian where she earned a BA in Communications. In 1991 Kirsten moved to Boston, where she began working for Knoll while also attending Boston University, graduating in 1995 with a master's degree in Psychology.
