Laura loves East Tennessee and could not imagine living anywhere else full time. She has been a long-time resident of Blount County, graduating from Maryville High School. After earning degrees in Elementary and Special Education from Carson-Newman College, she began teaching in the Maryville City School system. She then completed a Master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University. Laura was instrumental in starting and coordinating the Student Learning Profile Program at Maryville Christian School where students with varying special needs are served.

Laura and her husband, Kerry, have enjoyed flipping homes since they were married. They are parents to two active children and enjoy camping, hiking, biking, water sports, and spending time with family and friends. Laura also volunteers her time working with high school students in her local church and volunteering with local mission opportunities. She is also proud to be serving her community as a member of Junior Service League.
